I am in the process of building my "Dream Bike" and have spent hours playing with the possibilities. Some of the components are normal, time tested, and proven (but light); others are on the edge and very light. If I ever complete this project (I am riding the frame with other components and upgrading as I go) it should be under 14 pounds with pedals. There are a lot of TREK OCLV frames out there, and I chose this frame because I love the ride, but when this one is complete it will be different from every other OCLV on the road. Six years wrenching bikes in a shop turned me into a component junkie.
