at local bike shop Favorite Ride: Hunterdon County, NJ Bike Setup: 1999 Litespeed Classic, LOOK fork, Cinelli bar & stem, Turbo Matic saddle, Dura Ace 9 speed group, hand built tubulars Summary: I have three pairs of wheels built on these hubs. I have never had any problem with them after many thousands of miles. These hubs seem like they will last forever with proper maintenence. Some people don't like the grease they come with, but they are easy to take apart and rebuild with whatever lube you prefer. The titanium freehub is light and extremely wear-resistant. Aluminum freehubs on other brands, Even the newer 10 speed Dura Ace, get all chewed up from the cassette cogs. Also, this rear hub runs very quietly. When coasting, my bike is totally silent. All I hear is the breeze and the hiss of my tires on the pavement. I hate the clatter that the pawls in Campy, Hugi, and most other rear hubs make when freewheeling. These are excellent hubs. Strengths: Smooth, quiet, durable, and light.
Easy to service.
Wheel requires less dish than comparable Campagnolo freehub. Weaknesses: None Similar Products Used: older Dura Ace, Ultegra, 105 hubs
Mavic 571/2 (front hub nice, rear hub junk)

| | Favorite Ride: 740south in forney with a tailwind Bike Setup: in pices currently have 8speed 7400 170m crank for sale 50bucks no rings 972 564 0310 Summary: shimano factory grease is worthless. put some Slick50 teflon /lithium in these babies and roll till you croak. Or in rainy climates, Lubrimatic marine/auto grease. it rules. These have held up to radial aero wheels, bunny hops, potholes, crashes, dogs, and i'm fixing to biuld a new wheel on this front hub! unbelievable, the races are like new! the cones show a hair of wear, but no big deal, just replace teh bbs. I dock it one star for the seals, but hey its pro quality for less than Kris King. Strengths: tough as nails, brand name, rebuildable, tough races. Weaknesses: price, but hey.... also, the seals on the 8speed (i have last year of 8speed d.a.) are not impressive. low drag though. Similar Products Used: sucky wienmean hubs of the 80s not even close

| | Favorite Ride: Mr. Toads Wild Ride (Tahoe) Bike Setup: Cannodale CAD3 (Circa 1998) Summary: These hubs are great. I got mine laced radially to a set of sun rims by Winkle Wheel. They look great and have held up nicely. Every once in a while I have to renew that high polish with a scrub or two. Outside of that they are maitenance free. Strengths: Its light, high polished, and spins forever. Weaknesses: No high tech gizmos to brag about. Similar Products Used: Ultegra hubset.
