Price Paid:  $1200.00 at supergo (before it w

Model Year:
2003

Favorite Ride:
anything over 40 miles

Bike Setup:
stock plus ultegra pedals, Ultra Race Conti tires and several tubes.

Summary:
I got a great deal on this 2003 as the new 04's were coming in... after 7000 miles, I am still very much in love with this bike. It surprises many, especially considering my size. even at times (winter) when I am pushing 215lbs, this beauty never complains and rewards me even more on the descents. I keep looking around with thoughts of upgrading this or that... but she's been perfect despite crashes... may be the last bike I ever own.

Strengths:
solid performance, dependable. quick when I can be... forgiving when I can't

Weaknesses:
none

Price Paid:  $1899.00 at LBS

Model Year:
2006

Favorite Ride:
Anywhere

Summary:
This isn't a very strong bike. I sincerely regret my purchase, especially after reading this:

http://pardo.net/pardo/bike/pic/fail/FAIL-022.html

I have a dent in the bike from my knee hitting it while riding hard and I didn't expect this to happen.

Price Paid:  $1600.00 at Bikesmith's-Blooming

Model Year:
2005

Favorite Ride:
anywhere when it's warm with a tailwind

Bike Setup:
Shimano Ultegra (double)
Mavic Kysrium LS wheels
Easton E90 carbon handlebars
Shimano X2 speedplay pedals
Thompson 70mm stem

Summary:
I love this bike. I upgraded from the R600 and the increase in quality was outstanding. I am constantly training, going out on rides that last up to 8 hours in a day and this bike takes everything I give it. I have the 2005 model and luckily so, because for 2006 they downgraded this bike significantly. I'm a huge Cannondale fan, and as soon as the funds allow I have my eye on a new SystemSix.

Strengths:
-Light.
-Stiff.
-Very Durable.
-Very sexy in the matte black frame.
-Responsive.
-Easy to upgrade

Weaknesses:
-I've been having a problem just lately where my chain pops off the front chainring. I've heard that was a defect in the model that i have but warranty is covering it.
-If Cannondale made a 53cm it would fit me perfect...

Price Paid:  $1900.00 at Ownes Cyclery

Model Year:
2005

Favorite Ride:
Sequatchie Valley in Tenn, Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherhola Skyway

Bike Setup:
Cannondale CAAD 8
Shimano, Ultegra, Full Gruppo
Ritchey, WCS, Seatpost
Selle San Marco, Concor Light, Saddle
Real Design, Ultrasphere, Wheelset
Hutchinson, Fusion Comp, Tyres
FSA, Carbone Pro, Stem
FSA, RD250, Handlebar
Look, PP396, Pedals
Elite, Pateo, Cages

Summary:
This bike was an upgrade over my trusty Specialized ALlez, which was fine but i wanted to start doing some crits and road races and I felt that it was holding me back. This bike repsonds very quickly to any input from the rider and is super stiff, the front end on my bike (63)cm is not quite as stiff as i would like but it does the job. It descends like its on rails and I'm much more comfortable on the descents then I was. Overall I would recommend this bike to anyone wanting to get into the racing scene. It has done the job very well for me.

Strengths:
Stiff
Fast
CLimbs and Descends like a race biek should
Looks Sharp
Light
Snappy

Weaknesses:
Front end is not as stiff as some (probablly due to large size)
