Price Paid:  $514.00 at Penn Cycle in Eagan

Model Year:
2007

Favorite Ride:
Minnesota

Summary:
I have a 2009 (the drop down didn't have 2008 or 2009). I was using my Trek 4100 and wanted a road bike. After trying out some road bikes I realized that they aren't very comfortable. This bike is a great cross between mountain bike and road bike. It has durable and able to off road a bit, like a mountain bike. It also has speed and agility of a road bike. I am extremely happy with this bike.

Strengths:
Good value for the price. Great option for those who want the speed of a road bike, but still want a comfortable ride.

Weaknesses:
Agree with others that the pedals don't have much grip, I have already replaced mine.

Price Paid:  $375.00 at HHCycling and Fitnes

Model Year:
2005

Favorite Ride:
Just about all over southwest Ohio.

Bike Setup:
Completely stock,,though I did add the child-trailer attachment and an extra water cage.

Summary:
I decided on the Trek 7200FX mainly for the price, but it was definetly a huge upgrade from the Wal-Mart Roadmaster bike I had been riding for several years. The Trek has proved itself to be a great bike. I have put roughly around 8000+ miles on it and have not had any problems whatsoever. All Ive done to the bike is regular maintenance at the begining of riding season. My Trek is completely stock, all I have added is the attachment for a child trailer and the bike has pulled a lot of weight with no problems.

Strengths:
Comfortable ride, enough gears to make any ride easy or challenging, takes on steep hills easily, weight is good, solid frame, and the price is great. Overall a nice bike.

Weaknesses:
I dont like the flat handlebars too much, not enough hand position options and the pedals could use a bit more grip to them.

Similar Products Used:
I dont have much to compare it to since I rode around on a Wal-Mart, Roadmaster bike for years!

Price Paid:  $350.00 at gooddales

Model Year:
2006

Favorite Ride:
nashua river rail trail and some off road

Bike Setup:
stock. Bought the tag along half bike to attach to mine for the little one.

Summary:
My wife bought the 7100 early last year as there was a sale going on. I ended up getting the 7200
I am primarily using this as a commuter bike putting 60-75+ miles a week and then add on the family rides on the rail trail and some off road rides for just fun.
We decided on hybrids as we have some off road trails we like. We were told because of the design it's good for off road and on, but not quite ideal for either. With that expectation set I have not been disappointed by this bike. In fact I think it exceeds on all levels.
Very comfortable ride and I like the upright position for visibility in traffic. Handles very well on trails as well as the road. Plenty of gears to allow for no problems on hills. So far the stock parts it came with have held up quite well.

Strengths:
very comfortable. great price. Exceeded my expectations in performance both on and off road.

Weaknesses:
brakes need a lot of adjusting but otherwise none

Price Paid:  $375.00

Model Year:
2006

Favorite Ride:
trek 7200fx

Bike Setup:
completely and absolutely stock proformance wise. But i have carried at least 75 extra pounds on it before with easy up steep hills and havent even had to use my lowest gear/

Summary:
Bought it a year ago. Does great on flat paths/streets. It conquers the hilliest terrian. I have never had to walk it up any hill. Its been off road thought wooded muddy trails, it doesnt stop. Light enough to roll around tree stumps and big rocks, and very easy to keep control going down slippery hills. Able to hop across small streams and creeks easily. Its had no problem on any surface u can amagine. I road it across unfinished bridges over all the rebar and steel without easily. Rode it down a steam for 8 miles then up a muddy hill and through a grassy terrain then proceeded to go on my way. This bike is the best bike ever.

Strengths:
light, easy to haul massive loads with. Never have to walk up hills. Very fast going downhill. Easilly hits low to mid 40 mph range going down gently hills
never had to fix anything on it yet.

Weaknesses:
i recommend replacing the pedals. not much grip and the reflectors on the pedals are s***. I havent yet, but am looking at doing so.
