Favorite Ride: any donwhill with the wind at my back
Bike Setup: Lemond Zurich with Ultegra, FSA cockpit, and Bontrager Lite wheels
Summary: At first I was quite impressed with these tires, as they were cheap, rolled fairly well and looked good in the blue color whcih match my bike's frame. However during a moderately paced training ride, I went over a smal patch of gravel that put a severe puncture in the rear tire. This after only about 500 km tops. I looked over the area where the flat occurred and could find nothing that should cause a tear of this nature. I've been riding these roads for years and they are very nicely surfaced for the most part, and have never experienced anything like this before. Anyway, I'm going back to Gatorskins or Krylions which for me roll better anyway and are more trustworthy, albeit at extra cost. But you get what you pay for I guess.
Strengths: price
rolls ok
Weaknesses: puncture easily

Summary: Rubbish. Lasted less than a month and about 500km. Punctures on almost a daily basis. Both tires had multiple cuts all over them and were far more worn than would be expected. Dumpster bait.
Strengths: nil
Weaknesses: Absolutly no puncture resistance what so ever. These are easily the worst tires I have ever used.
Similar Products Used: various Conti's
Vittoria Rubino Pro/Rubino/Zaffiro

Bike Setup: Giant tcr, ultegra, real design superspheres
Summary: very pleased with these tires. As good if not better than Contis costing more than 2x price of Maxxis. 5grms more than contis. So far 1 flat. roll as well as conti. so far more durable. Cheap, so if they blow not down $50/tire
Strengths: low rolling resistance, no problms in wet weather, durable, cheap
Weaknesses: none
Similar Products Used: Conti ultra 4000, force, Michelin over priced junk

Summary: I typically ride 150 MPW. Put this tire on the rear of my Cannondale R400 Triple. After 1800 miles I have no complaints. Great tire for training rides. I've used it with a fluid drive trainer and on rollers and haven't noticed any unusual wear. I haven't had a single flat, so I'm either extremely lucky or the tire resists road trash well.
Strengths: Like the dual composite. Very little wear after 1800 miles. Good traction in wet conditions. With 120 psi the rolling resistance is low.
Weaknesses: It was harder than some to get over the rim.
