Price Paid:  $1200.00 at ebay

Model Year:
2005

Favorite Ride:
mill creek park

Summary:
I bought my CR1 on ebay a couple years ago after searching for my next bike. I got out of serious riding for a few years and wanted to return to the glory days of road riding. My Scott came with 9 speed 105 components and I rode them for a year until upgrading to Ultegra SL this year. What an incredible ride! The CR1 is fast, light, and climbs like a dream. I feel very secure on fast descents and get faster and fitter every ride. The CR1 is pretty stiff and I do feel a bit sore after a long ride but that's just an inherint aspect of this race bike's pedigree. It looks great too with it's large 12k carbon weave and slim aero fork. One of the best bikes out there!

Price Paid:  $1900.00 at Ebay

Model Year:
2006

Favorite Ride:
Snowy Mountains Australia

Bike Setup:
Shimano Dura Ace groupset - Richey WCS Carbon Stem & Seat post, Sella Carbonio saddle,Black Ops carbon bars, Time RXS TI pedals, Serfas carbon cages, Topolino AC29 wheel set,Vittoria Open Pro tires.

Summary:
The CR1 is a complete package - fast accelerating, direct in handling but not twitchy, stable downhill, corners like a demon and has great ride comfort. For the best rig with outstanding characteristics without compromising any critical performance aspects, you simply can't go past the CR1. At 210lbs I am on the heavier side and this bike is strong and just powers on! Try one and you'll buy one.

Strengths:
Light weight, fast acceleration, stability and sharp handling with unmatched ride quality.

Weaknesses:
???

Price Paid:  $1900.00

Model Year:
2007

Favorite Ride:
Silver Comet

Bike Setup:
105 groupo

Summary:
Mine is a 2008, not 2007. I have ridden this bike at least four times a week for the past several months and it is light. After long rides, 40 miles plus, it gets really uncomfortable. A lot of the discomfort is fatigue, but some of it is the bike is made for speed and not comfort.

Strengths:
Fast and light.

Weaknesses:
It is not the most comfortable bikes for long rides.

Price Paid:  $1199.00 at Round House Sports

Model Year:
2007

Favorite Ride:
Grand Loop Road in YNP

Bike Setup:
Full Shimano 105 components
Aksium Black wheels, spokes and hubs
Specialized Avatar Gel Saddle(may yet be replaced with something else)
Profile bottle cages
Crank Brothers Smarty pedals

Summary:
This is review is of a 2008 Scott CR1 Team, not a 2007. I bought this bike after trying a Giant something, Specialized Roubaix, nice but boring Trek, Bianchi 928, and Cannondale CAAD9. I love this bike, the frame is very stiff, it accelerates very fast, handles very well and is comfortable. I bought this bike to use in the 2009 Seattle to Portland ride and a couple other long distance rides. I'll add aerobars to it before then and hopefully find a truly comfortable saddle.

Strengths:
full carbon frame
Shimano 105 drive train

Weaknesses:
stock Selle Italia saddle - like a board
ergo (not) handlebars

Price Paid:  $1150.00 at eBay

Model Year:
2007

Favorite Ride:
Triple Bypass

Bike Setup:
Ultegra triple... Sella Italia SLR Carbonia saddle... Ritchey WCS4 stem and carbon seatpost... Ritchey BioMax bars... Rolf Vector Comps from my old bike (indestructible but heavy) soon to be replaced with Rol SL's...

Summary:
Purchased the lightly-used frame on eBay. Coming from a ten year old Specialized M2, this is like stepping out of the Dark Ages! It's hard to describe the feeling of lightness, instant acceleration and superb handling that this bike provides... especially if you've not ridden a carbon fiber frame before. Similar to getting out of my Denali and into a BMW M series... BOSS all the way! Already looking forward to next year's Triple Bypass... it should be a whole new ballgame!

Strengths:
Light weight... handling... acceleration... climbing... excellent value when compared with Cervelo, Look and other "top" brands, even if purchased new.

Weaknesses:
None so far.
