Strength:

Very smooth ride, quick enough, stable at speed and descending. Very good all-rounder.

Weakness:

Wide chainstays, geometry runs small. Not best crit bike (trades off stiffness for comfort).

I picked up the Warp 9 Ascent frame with a Wolf (True Temper) fork. I'm told it's the Masi 3VC repainted - they sure look identical. At 6'4" the 61cm was a little smaller than I expected and I had to get a 400cm seatpost. I built it with full carbon fork from my old Cannondale Synapse, and a full carbon handlebar and stem from China. It's a high modulus frame making for a light bike (don't have a scale to weigh it). I came from a 2004 Giant TCR which is very stiff and twitchy but climbs like a rocket. The TCR hops when I put the hammer down and I read that this rear triangle design eliminates that, which it does. I have no complaints about acceleration or climbing, and I'd say "smooth" is the primary characteristic. The TCR shredded my sphincter on chipseal centuries but this bike even inherited the 'painful' stock seat I replaced on the old TCR and it's just fine on this frame. I'd agree with the video review I saw that says it may not be exceptional at any one thing, but the more I ride this bike the more I love it. It has the stability of the longer-wheelbase Cannondale Synapse but slightly more nimble (but not as quick as a crit bike), really smooth ride, stiff enough BB, and a stable descender. The only complaint I have is my size 12 right foot tends to hit the wide chainstay from time to time, so I've narrowed the float setting on my Zero cleat to compensate.

Strength:

Handles well, climbs well, no creaks or rattles. Feels very balanced due to tje full carbon front fork. The Hutchison tyres seem to such to the road!

Weakness:

Looks like it could scratch very easily. Don't really want to stick and components like a computer on it, because it looks too nice without!

I bought the 'Team Issue' model as it was listed very cheaply on an online auction - basically took a punt. I then added the components in a similar ad hoc fashion till I had a decent bike.

What's it like to ride? Compared to my old KHS Flite 2000 (alloy and carbon) the biggest difference is weight - on the flat I can accelerate with wase and on climbs I literally fly up gradients that I used to struggle on. I am putting this down to the weight difference, but it could be better fit and geometry.

The paint job is excellent and it is a real head turner (especially with the components I picked) - I am a very happy nearly 50 year old!!

Frame was $500, cost about $2000 all up.

Strength:

Price, Paint, Smooth Ride, Great value, Ultegra rear derailleur, Its a Masi

Weakness:

Wheels are lame, medium weight components, Alloy steerer fork weighs a ton.

When I bought the bike I liked it. Its a comfortable geometry, good for hours on the road. Real stabil, its solid in the turns. Got a great price due to a couple scratches, you would never know they were there. Even the full MSRP is a good deal. In the 18 months I've owned it I've upgraded wheels&fork stem&bar seat&post cranks&bb brakes chain&cable/housings. This bike is sweet. Mine is just over 17 lbs and not superlight parts. Not a real light frame to start with but i love it. Get one, if you can

Strength:

Light fast and looks fantastic.

Weakness:

Not quite as lively as the Bianchi

Value for money is pretty much as good as it gets with this bike (I have the 2008 3VC Dura-Ace), rides to within 99% of some of the other bikes out there that cost thousands more. Goodwork guys

Light, looks great, value, climbing, descending, does it all.

Weakness:

None so far.

This bike is awesome. Mine is the 2008 model and I have used it for road racing and for triathlon. It does great. I couldn't find a better bike for the money. Full Ultegra with a Dura Ace rear. This bike is very smooth but still has an aggressive feel.

Incredible value (even at retail)

I went to the shop to pick out a steel frame (which Masi also makes) and test-rode this bike for fit only. It was just as comfortable as the steel, less expensive, and lighter. I couldn't pass it up. I'm thoroughly enjoying this bike. It has a much better feel than carbon bikes I've ridden in the past.

If I had just one word: Smooth.

But I don't have just one word, so I'll also say that Masi does a good job picking the components for you when buying as a full bike. There isn't anything I want to go out and replace immediately.

I have the 08 model.

Strength:

Competitive weight, great looks, very good handling.

Weakness:

Not REAL light, no frame mounted cable adjusters

I was immediately impressed with how stable this bike was at speed (40+). I also liked the way the bike handles the high speed downhill sweepers, like it's on rails, really nice.

Strength:

Very light. Stiff bottom bracket. Great value for the money. Great paint job.

Weakness:

No shifter adjuster mounts. A real pain. You can't make adjustments on the fly. You can't mount Jagwire in-line...not enough room.

I built up the bike with Record carbon and Mavic Ksyrium SSC. Bike is very responsive, light, and perfect for week-end warriors.

I changed the groupset to Campagnolo Centaur this is great gear the wheels are mavic these too are a fantastic product.

Weakness:

Frame not strong enough.

Unfortunately for me the Masi isn,t that good. I have cracked the frame on the down tube twice there seems to be some seriouse problems with strength. I am in the 90 kilogram range and the frame isn,t strong enough for my weight.
