$0.00 Favorite Ride: Anything flat with the wind at my back Bike Setup: Several. Summary: Had a set of 6610s for a while when the SPD-SL family first cane out and didn;t love them. These are a different story - I have WIDE feet and I instantly felt the WIDE platform on these pedals compared to my LOOKS. Nice easy engagement, and I can walk in the cleats. These or DAs will be on all my bikes soon. Strengths: WIDE platform (A++++ for this!!), solid feel, easy engagement. Not too much float. Much better foot stability and feel of power application than any other I've tried. Weaknesses: Not engagement not quite as positive as LOOK. Not the lightest pedal )But i'm not the lightest rider). These are very minor quibbles Similar Products Used: LOOK PP396, CX6, CX7 (the 396s and CX6s were rock solid pedals but the '7s have always felt narrow and kinda flimsy).

at Itoi Cycle, Sagamiha Favorite Ride: Around the world Bike Setup: 2007 C'Dale SystemSix Full Campy Record (07), Roll volants, Fizik Arione, Tompson masterpiece seatpost, FSA Carbon Wing bars (Replacement standard bars desired. Summary: Good pedals with excellent look and build quality. The one drawback it that they are extremely difficult to clip into after a stoplight. So much so that it borders upon dangerous. Another drawback is that the cleats wear out quickly. At least they are cheap. Lastly, the final drawback is that the screws are way too short for SIDI shous. I stripped out the lug in the shoes. Strengths: Great looking, Strong, well built, reasonably priced, and great once clipped in. Weaknesses: Ever difficult to clip in, provided mounting screws for cleats too short for some shoes (SIDI), cleats wear out quickly. Similar Products Used: Shimano XTR MTB pedals.

at online Favorite Ride: That one road... Bike Setup: Cannondale CAAD 9 Summary: This is my second pair of shimano pedals, i like the new design with the metal wear plate, thank you very much! These are simple pedals, that I expect to get several years of hard use out of. FYI these pedals tend to come with the spring tension turned way up so if you are having problems getting in just turn down the spring tension and see if that helps. I'd put them on par with the new look pedals, but I think shimano has better bearings and nicer finishing of their products. Strengths: Durable, smooth axles, low profile, i know they will last the miles. Weaknesses: Eventually they will wear out and i will have to buy another pair. Similar Products Used: Looks (good too), speedplay zero (boo), shimano ultegra 6600's

at eBay Summary: I don't have a whole lot of experience with other road pedal systems (I have used shimano's MTB spd pedals). At the same time, these pedals work so well, that I don't think that I will ever feel the need to try any thing else!
I originally went with the shimano pedals because the speedplay pedals were much more expensive! I'm very happy that I did! These pedals have an excellent feel to them. Clipping in gives a satisfying "locked in feeling". You are never going to accidentally clip out while riding. When pedaling, there's just enough float in the binding mechanism that I can make small adjustments in my foot angle while not feeling slushy like my MTB cleats. Furthermore, after 2000Km of riding my knees don't seem to be suffering at all with the limited float. Getting out of the pedals does require a bit of effort, but it's not too difficult. Strengths: Great feel! Durable pedals. I don't think that there is any need to buy more expensive pedals. Weaknesses: It doesn't have two sided entry. Sometimes, you do have to look down to make sure that your cleat is lined up properly.

at Ebay Favorite Ride: Burke Gillman Trail (I'm a newbie) Bike Setup: 98/99 Cad 3 Saeco Team, Mostly Ultegra, Selle Italia Lady Gel Saddle, Seatpost mounted rear rack & SunLite cargo bag/pannier(sits atop rear rack) Summary: When clipped in, there great, but it's the clipping in part that is causing me heartache. I line up my cleat with the front lip and step down to engage the clip, and nothing. Sometimes I have to repeat the action around 10 times. I've examined my cleats and the pedals and can't find any reasons why they're not working. I purchased them new less than a month ago and they worked great for the first week. Strengths: They work when you're clipped in. Weaknesses: After a weeks worth of use, I'm having a lot of difficulty clipping in.
