at REI Bike Setup: Trek Madone, Sram Force, Speed Play. Summary: Love this computer! The display is great, big enough to read at a glance. Super easy to set up on the bike, 5 minutes maybe. The zip-tie adapter on the speed sensor made it a breeze to put on my aero fork. Cadence works great too.
I did have to pull up on the 2 battery contacts in the speed sensor after it dropped out a few times. After that, it has worked flawlessly.
This is perfect for anyone looking for speed and cadence without wires. I have the non-cadence version BC 1106 on my mountain bike, also awesome. Strengths: Easy install. Big screen. Great customer service. Similar Products Used: Cateye Strada, Garmin

at EBay Favorite Ride: richardson bike mart Bike Setup: Custom Ti TT frame reverse sloping top tube, carbon fork, 650c wheels, 105/Ultegra mix, Ritchey parts, Chorus calipers. Summary: My fav was the old Avocets, but since those are scarce, I went to Sigma. I had used other Sigma models and have had luck with them. Won Computer NIB on EBay auction, didn't want to pay much for it, it mounted easily, no problems with set up- though I ride a 650c wheel and had to get out a ruler. Only problem I have had with this- the battery. I rode it several times without really reading the manual, the navigation took a couple times to figure out- warning- the back light really kills the battery. I haven't had issues with the coded sensor communicating with the computer as the other review mentioned. The stem mount option is good, but the back light is a feature I would like to cancel out or eliminate. Strengths: set up, features, wireless, coding the sensor to computer was very simple, it took the first time. Weaknesses: Battery issue with the back light- very lame. Some like the light, I don't need it. Similar Products Used: Sigma 1100, 800, Avocet 35, 45,Specialized Speed Zone(crap), Cateye various.

at LBS Favorite Ride: HHH Bike Setup: Bianchi C2C 928 with Ultegra SL components, Mavic Open Pro rims w/ Dura Ace hubs. Dinotte Lighting head/tail lights. Summary: Received the DTS 1606L with my new bike. I was told it was the one to go with since it could mount on the handlebar stem (aero handlebars) and it is also wireless so I wouldn't have to deal with any wires.
This is a great bike computer that is easy to read, easy to setup, easy touch buttons, has a light option for night riding, and the ability to switch quickly between two bikes (with the purchase of additional sensor for 2nd bike).
It keeps track of all sorts of stats, ride time, avg speed, avg cadence, trip time, bike time, total time, etc. I feel that some of the fields are kinda redundant (trip riding time, total riding time per bike, total computer ride time). After a ride, you have to reset twice before starting a new ride (1st reset only resets current ride display, 2nd clears all ride data)
Another nice feature is a memory function so that when you change the battery, your long term info is saved (total mileage, setup info, etc).
The one drawback is that the computer will sporatically stop reading the speed sensor. It is rock solid reading the cadence sensor. On a 25 mile ride yesterday, I lost a total of 1.25 miles because of this issue. This is the basic function of any bike computer and if it can keep 100% track of speed/distance, then everything else is skewed/worthless.
I returned this computer and went with the Sigma 1606L which is the wired version so I won't have to sorry about signal loss. Strengths: Great display, Night light, cadence, multiple mounting options. Weaknesses: Sporatic loss of reception from speed sensor! Current speed shows in .5 increments. Sensors are large and difficult to fit on some forks. Similar Products Used: Cateye Astrale, Garmin eTrex

at www.sigmasports.com Bike Setup: Cervelo Soloist (2006 Team Edition): Wolf CL carbon fork, Mavic Ksyrium SCC SL (2006) wheels; FSA K-Force carbon handlebar Summary: I've always had no problem with Sigma cycling computers. The cadence option on this one model is solid. My only complaint is the speed sensor regarding its shape and how it's hard to make it fit and stay around the bike's Cervelo fork. Strengths: Solid speed and candence functionalities Weaknesses: speed sensor (fit on fork) Similar Products Used: previous Sigma models; Cat Eye
