Strength:

Foot support, reliability, knee float, looks, price, don't need special shoes.

Weakness:

None so far. Well, maybe some clipless riders will call you a Fred behind your back.

I bought these pedals years ago after hearing Grant Peterson of Rivendell extoll the virtues of flat pedals. At first I used Power Grip straps on them, which worked well but didn't have enough float for my bad knees. I took them off and rode the pedals bareback. It is very nice to be able to ride in almost any shoe you like and use ones that are easy to walk in off the bike. The pedals grip very well and don't cause hot spots on my feet, as some of my clipless pedals did. The pedals provide a nice wide platform for my shoes. They also look great on my bike. The bearings have never needed servicing.

Shimano 536, Time ATAC, Crank Brothers Eggbeaters, all clipless pedals.
