Bottom Line: This bike is solid, it goes where I point it without beating me to a pulp. Nice detailing on the frame, and a sweet gold paintjob. Steel is real.

Strengths:
Light weight steel custom designWeaknesses:
PriceBottom Line: Rock Lobster provides for a simple, clean design that just plain rocks. Since each frames are hand made in Santa Cruz CA, you can order them custom. This provides for a tremendous amount of design flexibility. Mine is set up such that the head tube and seat tube are very steep, enhancing the cornering and reactiveness in the steer tube, much like a bike set up for crit rides. The chain stays are short, which makes the bike a excellent climber. You give up the down hill stability with the short stays, but in cross that is not a big thing. This frame is a better climber than my Specialized M2. The frame is steel giving the rider a more supple feel on and off road while allowing for durability for heavier folks. I am over 200 lbs! Total weight of my machine is under 20 lbs!!!
