at ebay Favorite Ride: any Bike Setup: Shimano 105,Time Atac, Avid Shorty brakes,Ritchey tires Summary: I love this bike! I commute 50 miles a day to work and back and decided to get this bike to do it rather than my mountain bike. I hit a dog last week that wasn't on a leash and bent the steering tube and fork 3-4 inches and did no damage to the frame. My shop said that is the test of a high quality frame. Sad to hear they went out of business. Another small company swallowed by the by production companies. Strengths: Light weight, solid frame (which was tested by recent crash), well built Weaknesses: none Similar Products Used: Mountain Biker - Cannondale F900z

at Rock'n'Road, Brooklyn Favorite Ride: life Bike Setup: Kinesis Aluminum fork, Ultegra Triple crank, front derailleur and STI shifters, XT rear, Ritchey Logic Cantilever Brakes, Cantilever brakes, Chris King headset, Time ATAC pedals, Hugi hubs w/Mavic CXP 33 rims and DT spokes, different tires for varying conditions. Fizik Pave sassle, Thomson post, TTT Primo bars, Ritchey threadless stem. Summary: I imagine it's a nice cyclo-cross bike. But I know that if you want to have only one bike, this will give you the veratility you want. It has most of the response of a good road bike (though slower steeroing because of a shallower head angle) and the fortitude of a good mountain bike. And it's comfortable. Strengths: Responsive ide with versatility. I'm an ex-racer who likes to ride agressively and wanted a winter/touring bike that wouldn't feel sluggish. (My road bike is a custom Land Shark.) Also the 135mm rear spacing allows you to build w wheel with less "dish" (though it doesn't allow the use of standard road wheel sets.)
Weaknesses: Took some work to set up triple for front. (Got an Ultegra triple w/a 26T inner ring and a BB spacer.) Also, I originally used V-brakes with my STI levers. Don't do it! I switched to cantilevers, and I had to rig up a hanger for the rear. But once I took care of these things, all was well. Similar Products Used: None. I've always had a "second" road bike for the purposes for which I'm using the VooDoo. Sometimes they didn't work with wider tires, cantilever brakes, etc. Or it was a real feat to put racks or bags on them. And the rises were sluggish or squirrely. Not so with the VooDoo.

at Woody's Bicycles Favorite Ride: Lookout MTN. Bike Setup: voodoo wazoo, italia seat, speedplay pedals Summary: great cyclo-cross bike fro the money! love the orange frame! I needed a way to save my mountain bikes tire and stay fit in the off-season, and this was it. Road bike, mountain bike, commuter bike, it does it all. In other words, its a CROSS bike! Strengths: the paint job is cool, and the steel frame has a great ride to it. The entire bike is a great barigan and I think Voo-Doo has some kind of spell on this bike! Weaknesses: the seat, and the crankset. The seat was horrible, and I immediatley put on my good ol' selle italia w/ti rails.
Similar Products Used: none, i am mainly a mountain biker

at Pacific Cycles Favorite Ride: San Bruno Mountain Saddle Bike Setup: Stock LX, RX100 FD and Shifters, Titec stem and post Model Year 2001. Stock LX RD, RX-100 FD and Shifters, Titec Post and Stem, WTB Saddle (ouch) Summary: I bought this bike as a catch-all, something aggresive on the road which could jump tracks to fire roads, dirt, etc. After riding it 500+ miles, I can tell you that it does all that. I would take it on 80% of the trails I'm familiar with in the Bay Area, Santa Cruz, Marin, etc. After I upgrade to an Ultegra Triple set-up, and replace the saddle, I'll be good-to-go. I love the lightness of the bike, as opposed to the mountain bikes I've ridden in the past (especially those with suspension). The only sign of weakness thus far is an incident involving a stuttering sandstone track which caused my front wheel to go slightly out of true. Overall the bike is fierce. Strengths: Light and Agile, Tougher than it looks Weaknesses: R&D Error, Front Derailleur Hanger supposedly interferes with steering. The shop had to install an ugly brace on the down tube. I could only find a double chainring option, which don't cut it on SF jags. Similar Products Used: Cannondale M-1000, Cannondale XR-800

| | Favorite Ride: any where two wheels can roll Bike Setup: 105 shifting and front mech,xt rear mech, lx hubs w/mavic m2 hoops, paul neo retro brakes. Summary: Sweet production frame, with the "small guy" touches. Strengths: -The ride Stiff steel frame that prosses forgiveness over railroad crossings, steep head tube angle is nice off road. -The frame A production bike sexy tig welds, Tange OX-2 4130 chro-mo(I have the 1999 model), Breezer look alike dropouts, no brazing (if that means any thing to you), butted head tube, fame weight of 3.52 lbf at 55 cm(and yes did weigh it!),rear shifting cable routing through cantilever post is very desinctive, rear nice paint and decals, and a head bag that lets cars I ride between who their daddy is. Weaknesses: No clear coat on the decals provided them to rub off. Similar Products Used: none, i'm a mountain biker.
