Strengths: - fits nicely in my trunk without removing even a wheel
- packs in a suitcase
- feels like a 'normal' bike
- strong.Weaknesses: - price
- flexes a bit more than a bike with triangle geometry. Air friday model flexes much more, I've seen it.
- tires choice is pretty small
- large chainrings are expensive.Bottom Line: Very nice machine. Not as smooth as carbon or Ti, but very nice bike, I like it a lot.
It just feels like a normal road bike, you forget about the small wheels very fast. Before buying it I read the reviews about different types of folding bikes, and the Bike Fridays were getting the best reviews. An alternative is to install couplers on a regular bike.
I would really like if they could make carbon frames :-)))
Favorite Ride: The mountains, all of them
Price Paid:
$1800.00
Purchased At: Used - 2002 model
Similar Products Used: Trek 5200 (twice), trek y-foil, Merlin extralight.
Bike Setup: Full chorus 10spd, triple chainring 39-48-60 (I want to try 36-48-60)
