Great bike for around town. The frame and headshok provide the right combination of stiffness and smoothness to keep you from moaning and grunting on climbs or over New York-style potholes. Components (geartrain, derailleur, etc) could use an upgrade. Good entry level bike. I also find the seat shock absorber useless. Try to negotiate a better price (I traded-in an old Trek for $200 off). Strengths:
CAAD frame and adjustable Headshok bring rare roadbike stiffness to hybrid. Somewhat affordable. Weaknesses:
Stock parts could be better. Newer versions of Silk Path line have headshoks that can be "locked out" to give extra stiffness for extra speed.

This bike fit my needs so far for a errand bike around town. Its faster then the mongoose croosway 250 that it replaces. I think I can keep this bike and upgrade as needed. Great price at $500.00 close out but I think at 850 list is too much for this. I think cdale has upgrade componets on newer models. Strengths:

front derailer could be better but on 2001 models i think they addressed that. Stock tires have little grip on anything but pavement. Similar Products Used:
