Strengths:    Well made, light, fast and very comfortable.

Weaknesses:    none

Bottom Line:
Ibought this bike in 1999 when i saw it by chance.I had never seen anything before and to be honest not since which is a shame because its the best bike i have had.The laid back position with large wide handlebars is so comfortable but where as custom bikes are comfortable but normally slow this is fast and handles really well what with fantastic road tyres, suspension forks and seat. The quality is very good, shimano gears etc.My 18 month daughter loves going on the back in her seat,we recently did the wolverhampton half marathon on it and she loved it,13 miles in one hour so we were going pretty fast.Just cant understand why more people dont have them, fantastic custom hybrid.

This is my other bike I purchased as an allpurpose street, light trail, fun machine. Make no mistake this is a new breed of hybrid bike. 21 speeds plus 4130 chromoly plus 700 size road bike wheels with a sort of intermediate slick tyre + swept back cruiser handlebars, all lead to a surprisingly light bike that really moves, and is very very comfortable. This style of bike could make a lot of converts from owners of cheap and unnecessarily heavy mountain bikes used as commute or on street vehicles. There is a large family of these bikes to chose from. I dont think the jetstream is worth the extra money just for the aluminium frame, (because the chromoly frames are light anyhow) and if you read the specs second and third bikes range have virtually the same specs anyhow. I actually went for a remaining last years model of the airstream which has rigid forks, as opposed to the small travel front forks that come with the highend models, and I dont miss their absense, just makes the bike lighter without them. Its your option though, just as is the suspension seatpost, which I like. This is important, Make sure you dont get a frame thats unnecessarily big for your needs. For example my airstream is a 16, and I am 5' 11, and it works just fine. A mix of 16 inch frame and 700 wheels is irresistable, and dare I say it these bikes look very trendy. You can put a wicker basket on those cruiser handlebars and go and get the groceries faster than you could in a porsche. The best thing of all of course is that they are emminently affordable. To summarize this is really a fantastic hybrid concept it unites a roadbike feel with cruiser comfort and security, and goes like a bat out of hell. This bike should get 10 chilis for sheer innovation.
