Strengths:    The components hold up well! It is pretty lightweight considering it is not Aluminum or carbon! It is pretty fast just not as fast as a racing bike! It is priced for a lower budget yet a great bike for the money! My 17.5 inch frame is perfect for my 5.5 height! Takes a rear rack! Can pull and carry quite a load!

Bottom Line:

I bought the bike used off eBay and I am not sure what the year of make is. It has a cro-moly frame and is fairly light weight, light enough for me. I have had zero problems with it. I commute with the bike on regular roads - part dirt trail - as well as gravel roads because I live in the midst of Amish country and I use a variety of routes to get around. I have hybrid tires on the bike (700 tires) and the bike all together has been great! It is fast enough on the street and rugged enough in the rougher terrain. It took me 3 other bikes first until I found this one and I really think its a great bike. I don't like spending tons of money on something and this fit my budget. I paid the least amount for this one and like it the best so far! I probably ride about 40 - 60 miles every week during the summer and then less in fall and spring. The shifters work well, the 21 speeds are being used a lot where I ride. I go uphill and downhill a lot and again - zero problems. It handles well and response is fast. I pulled a cycle tote with my son for the past 2 years (weight together about 60-70 lb) and I never leave the house without at least one bag on the back rack and it has held up to all that with again - zero problems. Also, I added handlebar grips so I can change position sometimes and I wouldn't be without them. One last thing...I like that it is not a typical "name brand expensive" bike because I feel that it is not sought after by thief's!

Strengths:    Comfortable, lightweight, responsive, fun to ride! Will take a rear pannier rack if you want to tour. 21 speeds make it versatile and ready for any trail or bike path.

Weaknesses:    None that I can see. I use mine as a cruiser, not a mountain bike.

Bottom Line:

Mine has an aluminum frame and was originally marketed as a "mountain cruiser". It offers more of a "cruiser" posture, with nubby mountain bike tires which have a smooth tire contact for street riding.

Strengths:    Reasonably nice components and frame for a decent price. Has been reasonably durable.

Weaknesses:    A bit heavy by road bike standards. Sluggish up hills. Frame geometry stretches out my upper body too much.

Bottom Line:

Mine is not a 1999. I got it about 5 years ago. My college experience was with racing road bikes. I got a hybrid for the bumps and curbs of riding in and around the city. There is nothing wrong with this bike. Probably better from someone with a mountain bike background looking to move on road. Going from a road bike to the hybrid is difficult because of the loss of responsiveness.
