Price Paid:  $700.00 at Jay's Pedal Power

Bike Setup:
rack, speedometer/odometer computer, extra water bottle

Summary:
Very sweet bike, if only the CI Deck module would work consistently. Not a necessary item, but you pay for it, and it is pretty cool when it works. Nice having the suspension at much less than the competition charges.

Strengths:
Smooth Shifting, light, fast, suspension smooths out the cracks and bumps. Nice look.

Weaknesses:
CI Deck module. Mine has broken 4 times already. Lasts bout 2-3 rides. Burr on wheel gave me a flat tire 2nd time out. Walking your bike a couple of miles is NO fun.

Similar Products Used:

Favorite Ride:
Pre Dawn Neighborhood & Beach Ride

Bike Setup:
Standard equipment. Geax Prevert tires, Shimano Drivetrain.

Summary:
I needed a bike that could give me a good early morning cardio fitness workout. Not too fast bumpy or twitchy (Road Bike) And not too slow, boring or Heavy on the road (MTN Bike) Something fun! Raleigh C-400 delivers pure fun!

I tested at least a dozen Hybrid\Comfort bikes at 9 various shops. Then I went back and re-tested them again. I tested some Brands as much as 3 Times over a course of a couple weeks. Raleigh C-400 gave best ride at half the cost of 1 brand and was only about $100 to $150. more than budget hybrids. Well worth the extra$$$.

I Really Groove on my Raleigh. Has put me back in touch with my "Inner Child" I even entered it in my first Triathlon! Averaged 15mph. Road bikes averaged around 20MPH. I am thinking about buying a second one to modify with race wheels & tires, aero-bars etc.. for future events. Raleigh won't sell me Just the frame. I think it would be really fun to blow off some $4,000.00 "Aero" Bikes on a $500 modified Hybrid! What a bike!

Strengths:
Comfort, Price, Fast, Excellent Road Handling Manners,(On and off the street)

Weaknesses:
Hard to find. Make sure yours has the correct chain for the gear system. Mine was wrong. Raleigh replaced it immeadiatly at no cost.

Favorite Ride:
gravel paths

Bike Setup:
Put a rear rack on and some panniers and this bike is set

Summary:
This bike is great. It takes a beating and just doesn't stop. For the price what you get with this bike is the deal of the year. The suspension fork isn't the best in the world but for commuting and doing some serious miles it sucks up the bumps and keeps the ride smooth all day long. The nexave components on the bike are rock solid, they perform well in all conditions all the time. If your looking for a high end hybrid to put some serious miles on, but don't want to spend serious cash, look no further then the Raleigh C400.

Strengths:
Suspension fork, tires Nexave groupo

Weaknesses:
None

Similar Products Used:
None
