at Boca Schwinn Favorite Ride: SR A1A from Boca to Ft Lauderdale Bike Setup: It has quick-release tranz-X alloy 40mm travel suspension seatpost, adjustable alloy stem and comfort bars, forged pro-style linear-pull brakes with modulator, sealed hubs, headset and an alloy kickstand. The Crossroads also featured a new lightweight CrMo curved frameset and a quality Shimano Nexave/Acera 21-speed transmission. Summary: I purchased the 2001 model as a re-introduction into cycling for fitness. The Crossroads is a good commuter and recreational hybrid - no doubt about it. In all likelihood I will upgrade to an Allez A1 - but keep this bike for banging around town. I like the Crossroads. Strengths: Responsive and quick for a recreational hybrid. Quality components. Weaknesses: I am in the saddle for more than an hour at a time, so the seat is not effective was upgraded to a Specialized Body Geometry seat. Similar Products Used: Schwinn Sierra 700

| | Favorite Ride: Raleigh R600 Bike Setup: Standard - out of the box. Will probably change the seat to something with gel. It comes with the lower end Specialized Body Geometry saddle. Summary: Great reintroduction to cycling for my wife. It doesn't have the clunky mountain bike tires with big treads and it rolls smooth. The posture is better than a road bike. Decent cruiser. Strengths: Bought the Crossroads for my wife. The shock absorbing features are especially nice for her because she hasn't ridden much in the past few years. The shifters allow for adjustments when rubbing against the front deraillier. Seatpost adjusts easily and quickly. The price was $199 plus $30 shipping on Yahoo auctions.
Weaknesses: A few paint touchups were done somewhere down the line. Hardly noticeable. Similar Products Used: None

| | Bike Setup:
Stock Summary: A fantastic commuter or recreational bike, for those who don't need to go offroad. If you can spend a bit more, go for a better set of components. Brakes go out of adjustment, seatpost bolt broke while riding, deralieurs are hard to adjust and come out of adjustment, headset loosens easily. Strengths:
Wonderful ride, great Specialized seat (I recommend the Body Geometry to everyone), good looks, low price Weaknesses:
Predictable component weaknesses, difficulty in adjustment, etc., due to low cost Similar Products Used:
Trek 700, Bianchi
