Strengths:    Price for components, front and seat shock, Alum. frame, straight frame (hate those retro-curved things)

Weaknesses:    Front shock seems a little soft and thate goofy Univega logo

Bottom Line:
Best bike I could find for the price...I liked the look (plain-Jane gray) I park on city streets alot...thought this color would not attract much attention for theives. It rides real fast (but hey compared to a mnt. bike) I liked that it came with toe-clips...the Giant did not (extra $20 with trade) I look forward to riding this thing into the ground. I average about 40-60 a week so we will see how long it takes.

Favorite Ride:   Minnehaha Creek

Price Paid:    $369.00

Similar Products Used:   Trek 820 that I have just about rode into the ground 8,000 plus miles...not bad for an entry level. Test drove the GT slipstream...but hated the doppy (love 'em or hate 'em...I hated 'em) handlebars. I also looked at the Spec. and Trek (still love them WI bikes...but not worth the name vs. component/price issue

Bike Setup:   bar-ends...need 'em when you charge the hills and fenders need 'em so the office clothes don't get wet.

Strengths:    Suspension seat post, suspension fork

Weaknesses:    pedals

Bottom Line:
for commuting this bike rocks. the suspension fork takes up all the bumps and it even handles riding off curbs. the brakes are super powerful, better then those old canti's any day. I have a mountain bike now and I just hated riding it to work, so I got this bike and my problems are solved. I smooth tires roll so easy on the pavement, I get to work so quick!!!! This bike is really an all around bargin!! Get one if you can find it!
