Strengths:    Light, very good ergonomics, solid constrution, comfortable to ride.

Weaknesses:    The geometry could be streched out a little, but that's a Canondale thing.

Bottom Line:
I've been riding on the CAD3 frame for over 3 years. When I do the loop in central park, I have no problem being one of the fastest bikes on the road. I can easily average 17 to 20 mph. I've hit over 40mph on a few down hills over the years and the bike felt solid.

I'm considering a Transamerica tour (going x-country) in late Summer of 2002, I hope it holds up. The total ride is over 4,500 miles. The carbon fiber fork helps soften the ride. The bike weighs only about 22.5. I don't feel a need to upgrade for a long time!

Strengths:    Good frame, almost race ready with a few upgrades. Good ride at this price point. Handles well. Cool looking frame.

Weaknesses:    Components. Cannondale mixes in their components (Coda) with mostly shimano 105. One thing that puzzles me is why they put a tiagra front derailer on this bike. Defective rear wheel (2 spokes popped).

Bottom Line:
Excellent ride at a good price. This is my first road bike so I don't have tons of ride experience. I have 1200 miles on it and it still rides very well. It is comfortable, fairly stiff and handles well.
