Strengths: CAAD 4 frame, the weight - about 18 lbs stripped for action - the mavic cxp 23 wheel set - superb handling and control. It really looks the business, did any one mention the welding? Just look and compare.Weaknesses: This model comes with Shimano 105 crankset. For some reason - probably me - my heels kept clipping the chain stay. Changed to the slightly wider Coda Cannondale cranks and the problem was solved. I think it looks better with the black cranks anyway. Oh yes that saddle - change it for a 'save the boys' type.Bottom Line: This was a retirement present to myself. I wanted a comfortable light weight 'racer' suitable for long day rides and posing. I think this bike is great, it just asks to be ridden. I have had to extend my rides to stay out the same length of time. It is fast, smooth and climbs like a dream. The bonus to me is unlike many racing bikes I can actually squeeze on a set of mudguards to keep me, my companions and the delicate bike parts dry.
Favorite Ride: The quiet lanes of Essex
Price Paid:
$1790.00
Purchased At: Chelmer Cycles
Similar Products Used: Looked at Orbea, Giant, Dawes, Specialised, Basso but none realy matched the Cannondale nor the service from the dealer.
Bike Setup: As it comes, but changed the cranks and saddle. Added Cateye computer, mudguards, wedge pack, kript
