Strengths: Cost, Frame, quality road handling.Weaknesses: Seat, Slack geometry for triathlon.Bottom Line: I have ridden my buenos for going on three years now. I got a 2000 model on year end close out. It was my first road bike and I have at least 5000 miles on it by now. I've done many 100+ mile rides, ridden in groups, and done triathlons on it. It is a good, not a great bike. I'm happy with its performance overall. It was solid and gave me little problems. The 105 parts were reliable and pretty durable. It held its lines well and is a good handling bike. The steel frame and fork did transmit a good deal of road shock to me. The clip-on aero bars were a difficult fit on a Lemond. I would not try to adapt this slack angle geometry to triathlon TT again, but as a road bike it handle well and is a good value. In fact, I like the road setup so much that I still ride it quite a deal even though I bought a high end tri-bike this winter. The seat was uncomfortable and needed upgrading. I would also seriously consider upgrading to an ultegra BB for weight/durability issues. Also, be sure to generously lube the stem/headset interface to prevent seizing which cost me a bit when trying to change the stem out.
