One saving measure is the 1inch steerer tube with a sleeve to accommodate the 1 1/8 stem, no functional problem with than though

This Univega is an awesome bike at an excellent price. I bought it 2nd hand but with no miles and has since ridden it for 2 seasons. The complete Campy Daytona performed flawlessly. The 10*2 gears have a wide range and excellent shifting, the brakes are strong and the wheels required no service. Handling is on the stable side, and comfort from the Columbus Cro-Mo frame very good.

I recently purchased a 2001 Univega Modo Volare. It caught my eye at the shop with its cool color scheme but the price tag was a bit more than my budget at 1200.00. Talking with the clerk I came to find out it was a 2001 model and the price was drop to a grand, and with a bit of haggling I was able to get it for 850.00. I only have about 100 miles on it so far but I like it a great deal. It’s a nice ride very responsive. It rides like a high range bike for a mid range price.
