Strengths:    Comfort, speed, qualily of construction and use of best components. Made in USA!

Weaknesses:    Makes you want to ride instead of doing chores!

    Bottom Line:
Upgraded from a TE, had the TE for four years. Noticed an emmediate difference in acceleration and coasting speed. I can keep pace with my wife's TE just by using the middle ring of front sproket. Comfort is 2nd to none. Just bought one for my wife. Will be delieved in a few days. She really loves her TE, but will become a believer once she's on the GRR.

Strengths:    Every little thing she does is magic.

Weaknesses:    I've not found one yet.

    Bottom Line:
I am a FAST recreational cyclist and have had 3 different Easy Racers Tour Easys, the steel framed counterpart to the Gold Rush Replica. As good as the TE is, the GRR is simply amazing in comparison. In comparison to any other recumbent, in fact. This bike flies! Even minimal effort puts you at 20 mph in seconds. Truly a "magic" bike. As Gardner Martin (designer of GRR) himself said, "Some things just work better than they appear they will".

Strengths:    Fast, stable, very comfortable (can ride for hours and remain comfortable, fatigued! but comfortable)

Weaknesses:    Price. I have the polished aluminum model which is attractive but requires some additional cleaning maintenance

    Bottom Line:
I bought the GRR 1-year ago and have ridden it approximately 4500 miles. I previously owned a Tour Easy. I just love the bike and would recommend it to any serious biker. I have the Koolback seat and like it better than the RANS seat on my Tour Easy. On my measured training routes I find the GRR to be about 5% faster than the TE. I have the Zzipper fairing on both bikes.

My wife has a BikeE and it is a nice bike for riding shorter distances at slower speeds but I don't believe a serious rider would be satisfied with its performance.

Bike Setup:   Standard factory components (3x9), plus Zzipper fairing

Strengths:    Fast, comfortable, very stable at high speeds. Coasts downhill like a bowling ball falling off the edge of a table. Excellent for centuries and long tours.

Weaknesses:    None. But would prefer a higher bottom bracket to be able to recline a little more.

    Bottom Line:
The best all-around production bicycle made. Others may excel at specific tasks, but this bike does everything well. If you are interested in fast, comfortable road riding and touring, this is the one to buy.

Strengths:    Very high-quality and well-designed. Very fast and comfortable. Excellent road manners/handling.

    Weaknesses:    None

    Bottom Line:
One of the best choices for a quality recumbent. Very versatile (touring, fast recreational riding, etc.). The bike is highly-esteemed in recumbent circles. I've ridden/owned quite a few 'bents; it's tough to top the GRR.
