Strengths: ZipWeaknesses: Worst engineered recumbent I have ever sat on.Bottom Line: This summer I was invited on a 500 mile ride across TN so I had very limited time to obtain a bike. I chose a recumbent because of their unique qualities. I ordered a Vision bike because they promised to deliver the bike quickly.
Of course the whole thing is my fault. One should never buy a bike before testing it.
I soon discovered that this is not a medium wheel base but a bag of badly designed compromises to stretch a short wheel base.
On the first day, about 50 miles outside of town the pulleys that maintain the chain’s tension bent while going up a moderate hill. The pins that hold them in place are grossly inadequate to withstand the tension of everyday us. These bent pins would be a problem for the next four days as I attempted to straighten and replace them. Finally, I changed the length of the chain and removed them.
In addition, it is impossible to easily adjust the seat without spending several minutes off of the bike. Why in the heck didn’t they use a system like the BikeE or Linnear? Instead, you are stuck in one position unless you are willing to take the time and hassle to change the overall length of the bike. If you change the length of the bike then you have the problem of chain tension. Please note that other bikes do not have this problem.
However the worst design nightmare is the seat. There is a LARGE PROTRUDING STEEL BAR under the seat pointing upwards! The only purpose of this torture device seems to be to spear the prostate of any ninny who buys their bike!! The whole reason for a recumbent bike is COMFORT. Every other recumbent bike I have been on understands this except Vision. I spent the week trying to stuff various pieces of roadside jetsam under the seat to prevent a painful pounding of my private parts. If the misplaced bar under the seat doesn’t unman you then, should you hit a rough spot in the road and slide forward off the seat, there is a steel protuberance in front of the seat perfectly placed to impale you.
I am convinced their engineering department is run by the Marquis de Sade.

Strengths: Great speed and comfort. For me, it's a great combination.Weaknesses: The boom is a little difficult to adjust for different sized riders. So when my friends want to try it out, they need to be about my size or it just doesn't work. Plus, although it fits on most standard bike racks, it is not an easy fit on my bike rack.Bottom Line: THis is a very comfortable and fun bike. The USS is a blast and the ride is smooth. Even w/o the front suspension, it's a smooth ride and very fast.
