a Commuter
from Mpls. MNDate Reviewed: May 29, 2003
Strengths: You sit high... perhaps higher than any other 'bent. That's a plus for commuting. It's fast. When I take the seat off, it fits in my bike locker at work (it has a quick-release seat which makes that convenient)Weaknesses: Expensive. QR seat comes off easy, but I have to make sure it's properly aligned when I try to put it back on. You need to have a rear view mirror, as you're so reclined that you have little ability to look back. Tires availability (24 x 1 1/8) is limited. The handling is "twitchy" (or "responsive" if you want to put a positive spin on it). You don't want to hit a slippery patch.Bottom Line: I'm a "fast commuter". I have a 10 mile commute (each way).
