Strengths: I was afraid to go with aluminum and almost played it safe and bought a chro moly bianchi, but the aluminum frame gives great acceleration and is extremly light. Excellent braking. Comfortable even on 3 hour rides. Climbs hills like a champ. My speed and distance ridden have increased. The wheels have stayed fairly true even after taking somewhat of a beating over rough nj/ny pavement. I average 130 miles per week and for the money this bike has been great.I went almost 1,000 miles without a flat before the inner liner in the front wheel wore out and I started getting spoke flats, but the tires have been great.Weaknesses: i am 6'1 and the 58cm frame has been a bit small for me. I have had to raise the stem and seat post alot higher than recommended for comfort purposes. This has made the handling a bit squirrely at higher speeds. The nice people at Fuji and my bike store are going to swap the frame for a 61cm which I know will improve handling and comfort. The 2001 roubaix will have a carbon fork which should ease vibration and harshness of ride. Like I said nj/ny streets are not the best.Bottom Line: Once i get the new frame/fork setup I truly believe that this bike will compete against much higher priced machines. I rarely get passed on route 9w and I pass people with litespeeds and other higher priced bikes. I am kind of a novice on the difference between shimano 105 and ultegras. I think yhe shifting and braking are fine on the roubaix. In retrospect for a few hundred dollars more I would have liked to give the team model a try, but I think the roubaix is a great bike for a novice to mid range rider and the price is great. Don't be afraid of aluminum, and with the 2001 having a carbon fork, this will be an awesome bike. Go with the stiffness and weight savings. it will make a difference.

Strengths: Light, good road feel. 105 components have performed very well. No problems to date, I do preventative maintenance.Weaknesses: None to date.Bottom Line: This is a nice light bike that has given me 1300 trouble free miles. I don't race, but ride 3 - 4 times per week and this was the right bike for me. I like the good stiff frame and the feeling of control.
Favorite Ride: All Rides are great
Similar Products Used: None.
Bike Setup: As shipped with Flight Deck added. I just changed to Speedplay X/2 pedals and new Sidi Genius 3 shoes. I was using the SPD Richey's and Nike shoes. I believe that I will be happier with the extra float and double-sided aspect of Speedplay.

Strengths: It has a nice though a little heavy cro-moly frame. The 105 component group works well for what I paid for the bike.Weaknesses: The bike is a little heavy.Bottom Line: I have either a 97 or 98 Roubaix and it has been a nice ride so far. I traded in my 97 Cannondale R200 for this bike straight across and $40.00 extra.
Overall the bike has a good ride and quality components for the price. I've been quite satisfied with the bike and the trade that I made for it. My only problem is the excess weight which is why it gets a 4 instead of 5 rating.
