Strengths: good frame and forkWeaknesses: dont know enough about bikes.Bottom Line: ok its a tuff little bike under 20lb, took alot of punishment for about six months stright with out a tune up.
I got the taxi design. But from reading other peoples reviews Im going to buy new rims/spokes and hubs christmas 2001, I have done about 500 miles in san angelo texas it fared well from my abuse and the abuse of the cheap roads there. I going to test the bike out in NYC this year. I have been wating for this for about seven months. if you want a simple good bike this is it for the price. If you are getting more serious hold off on this one there are better bikes for the same price.

Strengths: Extremely light, my 54cm bike weighs in at under 20lb -- awesome for a steel bike
Ultegra group works wonderfully - totally smooth, totally quiet, and you can shift while you're stomping or going up a hill with no problems.
Carbon fiber fork is nice and overall ride is excellent. And it arrived by UPS 4 days after I ordered, completely assembled except for handlebars and seat, and very well tuned.Weaknesses: Paint job is mediocre at best. Wheelset (Sun rims) is OK but not nearly as good as the 853 frame and the Ultegra components. But a $400 wheel upgrade would make this a totally awesome speed machine. The Nashbar saddle it came with is mediocre, I bought a Selle Italia flite.Bottom Line: This bike is an incredible steal at $1200, comparable to other bikes I looked at for up to $2000. The perfect ride for a hard-riding person who doesn't want to go broke getting a really nice machine. You just have to be willing to ride a machine made in Taiwan and pocket the difference. I highly recommend it and Nashbar does a great job delivering it in good shape.

Strengths: One year later, I am re-reviewing this bike.
Can't beat the price
Great components, lightweight, handles great.Weaknesses: Crappy wheels - Ultegra hubs are terrible compared to my Mavics, saddle is garbage, bottle cage bolts on seat tube are crooked on the frame, so tall bottles hit my leg. Ultegra STI shifter cover fell off, and was very difficult to replace because the bolt is not included in the replacement. Decals not staying on well, paint is marred by brake cables rubbing and from the chain dropping.Bottom Line: I've been pretty happy with this bike. I've raced 20 races this year on it, and never felt limited by the bike after I replaced the wheels. I take back the bottom bracket comment. However, be prepared for other riders (especially the guys on the Litespeeds) to think you are a Fred for riding a mailorder bike. Take heart knowing that you have $2500 more in the bank than they do

Strengths: Good components, Frame and fork.Weaknesses: Wheels.Bottom Line: Very nice bike. However, quality of the wheel build is very BAD! They have gone out of true every time I have ridden the bike (155 LB rider, smooth roads). I "re-trued" them after each ride. After contacting Nashbar, they sent another set of wheels. Same story; good wheel components--- lousy build. I guess you get what you pay for. Great value for such a nice bike, but figure on spending the $ on a rebuild of the wheels (or new ones).

Strengths: 58cm frame weighs in at 20# (sans pedals). beautiful carbon fibre fork. SDG belaire saddle (wit' titanium rails). beautiful paint job. reynolds tubing. ultegra components. DT spokes.profile bar, stem & tape. price. even size fit!Weaknesses: IRC tires. woeful lack of ironhorse merchaindise. handsome 'ironhorse' badge not anchored as well as "made in taiwan" sticker.Bottom Line: well, the big reason you buy this bike is price. and the pictures look a little questionable in nashbar. but, baby, when you get this one home, you will not belive how nice it is. the frame fit me practically custom (58.2cm). it was lighter than heck! stem was a little long. bars might be a little wide. but, at most, that would cost $75 to fix. saddle has titanium rails. prepped nicely by nashbar. sent in a timely fashion. gotta flat the first time out. the IRC's looked like a nice tire, but the piece of beer bottle that puntured that baby would never pierce my vredestein!!!!
