Summary:
This is a super bike for me. I ride about 16 miles a day for my commute, and this bike is perfect for it. The 105 drivetrain is stiff and preceise and the wheelset has taken ALOT of abuse but still runs true. The Kinesis II fork is soft and light, don't think there is a better fork at this price level. The cromo frame is not as light as the Alum and Ti frames, but my butt thinks that the cromo is a bit softer on cracked pavement through the commute. Add up the price of all the components and your getting the frame almost free!

Strengths:

Weaknesses:
Ritchey pedals are the weakest component on the bike; Hutchinson Reflex Tires were not rugged enough for commuting; The jury is still out on the Fizik Pave saddle, may upgrade to a cut-out style.

Summary:
Great BIKE! mid components, very nice wheels, awsome Reynolds frame. great bike for anyone, for the price it is certainly one of the nicest(and lightest you can get!

Strengths:
Frame, wheels, components, and for the price weight

Weaknesses:
The Fork Sucks, Spinner steel/aluminum it is extremely heavy. I've upgraded to a Reynolds Ouzo Pro, and it seriously made my bike over a Lb. and a half lighter. If your going to upgrade somthing make it the fork.

Summary:
For the money, this product cannot be beat. The only competitor is the Univega Modo Vivere, which offers Campy instead of Shimano. The Reynolds steel frame is fabulous. The aluminum on the higher end Raleigh killed me in the test ride. The bike looks great too (red!). I'm planning to upgrade the crank to a 105-double and maybe upgrade the pedals, but otherwise I couldn't be more pleased.

Strengths:
{PLEASE NOTE: I am reviewing the 2001 Jamis Ventura, which is similar to the 2000 Quest, but about $300 cheaper} Components, Price, Ride Quality

Weaknesses:
Cheap pedals and crank (will be upgraded later), also it's hard to find a Jamis dealer (there is only ONE in Missouri, but they happen to be 15 minutes from my house).

Summary:
I initially became interested in general biking through the mountain biking side of things and quickly became obsessed. I looked into road bikes because I wanted speed. I did not want to pay over $1000 for the bike due to a massive over haul of the mountain bike this winter. My brother in law has a Jamis mountain bike and I could tell they were very well built bikes. When I talked it over with my local bike guru he agreed that Jamis was an underground company that makes good quality bikes. Well my mind was torn between the Lemond, which I knew was good and the Jamis. When I found out I could get a 2000 model quest for only $900, I was sold. I bought the bike and I love it. I ride a 59cm and it weighs in at about 21 pounds. The 105 components work fine by me. They shift quietly and smoothly, like they are supposed to. I have ridden around 65 miles in a week or so and I have not needed to tune up a thing. The look of the bike is decieving! It's a steel bike but it has hints of titanium in its looks. I could really care less about the titanium thing but for those of you interested in looks, I can assure you, this bike has them. I am really looking forward to many long pleasurable rides on this bike. I enjoy the aspects both mountain and road biking have to offer! If you are like me and enjoy riding for the simple pleasure of riding itself, you will enjoy this bike and agree that you really get what you pay for. Ride on...

Summary:
Overall this bike is a great bang for the buck. The components are awesome and the frame is nicely finished. I'm a die hard mountain biker and this is my first road bike. I'm kicking myself for not purshasing one earlier because this thing feels like a porsche compared to my offroad bikes.

Not the lightest thing out there
