Price Paid:  $1200.00 at Paramount Cycles

Favorite Ride:
Anything here in Alaska

Bike Setup:
Rolf comps, full Ultegra, upgraded to a Selle saddle

Summary:
Wow! Saw this beauty in the cycle shop while visiting on a whim. I was just about to decide between a Cannondale 2000, a Raleigh 700 Comp, and a Trek 5200. The paint job alone on this bike convinced me immediately! I've already been on several rides since owning this bike and have to say I am proud to have made the right choice. The frame is responsive and light, the comps are ultegra so you know they work flawlessly, and the wheelset works perfectly.

Strengths:
Climbing ability. This bike jets up any climb! Also, shifting and stiffness on bike is superb.

Weaknesses:
The saddle this came with sucked and so did the headset. Not sure if they were stock or if bike shop swapped out. Upgraded both. Also, not too impressed with the brakepads so far.

Similar Products Used:
Trek, Giant, Raleigh

Price Paid:  $1200.00 at Road Bike Review Cla

Favorite Ride:
Hotter Than Hell 100

Bike Setup:
Ultegra stock But upgraded most parts to dura ace for style points. 4000+ miles on the Rolf Comps, still true.

Summary:
I bought this 2001 Chambery because of it's looks but have since been impressed with it's ride. Have recently been looking for a carbon bike, but after testing several, none can compare.

Strengths:
Looks, Paint, Responsiveness & One of a kind on any ride.

Weaknesses:
none

Similar Products Used:
Trek 5200, I.C.E. Hammer, Specialized M4

Price Paid:  $1400.00 at Sun and Ski Sports (

Favorite Ride:
Mt. Bonnell, Austin, TX

Bike Setup:
stock

Summary:
I have had absolutely no problems with the bike in the 5 months that I have had it. I have put 2000 miles on the Vectors, and they are still as true as the Bible. This bike seemed to be the best value in it's price range.

Strengths:
paint, components, and seat.

Weaknesses:
expensive long stem tubes for Rolf Vector Comps...Lemond frame is not designed for all bodies

Similar Products Used:
tested all bikes in price range, the Giant was the most comfortable...but also the most dorky

Price Paid:  $1500.00 at Palm Springs Cyclery

Bike Setup:
Stock except for a TTT Prima handlebar.

Summary:
When framebuilders started using aluminum tubing, I imagine that this bike is what they had in mind. I have owned three other steel bikes, and this one is every bit as comfortable. Truly amazing. I had resisted aluminum for years, but once I rode this baby I knew it was all over. I had to have this bike. Don't let anybody fool you into thinking a bike can't be stiff and forgiving at the same time. This bike is.
You might need to change the wheels. I will be posting a review of the Rolf Vector Comps in the near future. They are not bad, but might have limited use depending on the type of riding/racing you do most often.
The paint on this bike is beautiful, and because of the oversized aluminum tubes, quite easy to keep clean. The Lemond is far more distinctive than any other production bike in this price range, especially if you can get a deal like I did. Five stars all the way.

Strengths:
Quality of ride, paint, and value.

Weaknesses:
For some riders, the Rolf Vector Comp wheels.

Similar Products Used:
Over the past 15 years, this is my 4th road bike. Others were a Fuji, Bottecchia and a Torelli. I also own a Schwinn Homegrown.

Price Paid:  $1800.00 at Quality Bike

Bike Setup:
Standard, ultegra group, rolf wheels, Time carbon fork.

Summary:
This is my first serious road bike, I have not owned a mid priced road bike but I think I got my moneys worth. I enjoy the responsiveness of the bike, handling corners is no problem at all either. I bought the triple but haven't had the opportunity to test it on any reasonable hill but I think shell do ok. If anyone is going to buy one I would watch the rolf wheels closely, maybee my spoke tension problem is one of a kind, well see. I would not let the wheels discourage anyone from buying the bike though.

Strengths:
Very responsive, beautiful paint.

Weaknesses:
I have had a little trouble with the rolf comps loosing spoke tension. I'm a 200lb rider so maybee that makes a difference, but the factory rep said it shouldn't have happened, I got them back today after retensioning both wheels, well see.

Cannondale R600
