Favorite Ride: Any one where i don't get hit by a motor-vehicle...
Bike Setup: 'Stock' except for Shimano 646 pedals, (which i hope to swap for some roadie-ones soon)a clip-on Topeak rack w/rack-trunk , my Specialized BG seat(which I hope to swap for a more 'forgiving' one soon) Cateye computer & light, (one)Conti Top Touring 28cm tire which i hope to replace soon w/(TWO)Gatorskin ones or something similarly flat resistant but w/less tread...
Summary: Only been 360 miles in the two-1/2 weeks i've had her but she's a beastie!
Note: i was told this was the same as the Volata but from it's specs i'm not so sure.
I Wanted more of a touring type bike in my 'golden' years but saw this hand made Basque beauty (& the price!) & -well basically went berserk...
Having some difficulty adjusting to the new ergonomics(after riding beater mtbs for years)but hope to plush it out satisfactorily w/bigger tires, a different seat, stem, etc.)
Strengths: Climbs -well better than my beaters anyway!...looks beautiful, nimble, light, fast--Campy drive train is awesomely 'sure-footed', made by a co-op in Spain
Weaknesses: NONE SO FAR THAT I CAN THINK OF>>>-sort of uncomfortable but goes like the wind...(& I believe i'll be able to 'mollify' that fit-problem)
Similar Products Used: Tried various models from Specialized,(Allez sport?) Giant(Cypress SX, LX)Trek,
(520?-see how i was trying to get a more cozy ride???)Novara Rondenee, Bianchi Eros, Brava--wish i'd had the money for that Eros!!

Favorite Ride: At my age? -any & every...-rain or otherwise...
Summary: Wanted to add that tho' the Volata may be a different bike i find the experience to be similar to those who reviewed it in double & triple. -It darts on cue & decends 'as if on rails' as one person put it.
It also climbs well enough--i'm just out of shape & grumpy as i was looking for something more plush however being a city dweller i now can appreciate why bike messengers & such use ones like this...-i do actually feel safer than i did on some of the 'tourier' ones.
Also the reason i find the fact that it's made by a co-operative a strength (besides the obvious--comfort w/the fact that wokers who made my bike are making a decent wage & thus the quality control will i assume be better than some desperate -hungry?- person in Taiwan making 4$ per hour or even a teen over at Trek making 8. :-)
