Strengths: Appearance, wheels stayed true, minimal component problems, minimal maintenance.Weaknesses: Creaking forever, stupid "Pinarello.Com" emblazoned on seat tube and chainstays, sloppy BB and Head tube welding, left BB retainer loosening regardless of torque, Campy shifters required regular clean&lube from dripping arm sweat but fixed by wearing wrist bandsBottom Line: Downtube cracked at ~13,000 miles. Never wrecked, normal road conditions, no winter riding. Early problems with left side BB retainer coming loose 1x/yr---fixed with Locktite after 3 yrs. Disappointing to have Al frame fail under non-stressful riding conditions. Next bike I'm going with Ti or Steel.

Bike Setup: 51 cm, Campy Chorus, 50/40/30x13/26, bikeshop-built wheels (still true). Mrf and other shops say "8 years on an aluminum frame is pretty good", but a $2500 frame should last longer than 3 chains.

Strengths: Comfortable and responsive.Weaknesses: PaintBottom Line: Good ride but the paint is terrible. Decals are peeling and paint is fading. I like the frame enough to have it repainted but I'd never buy another due to paint problems. When you spend this much on a bike you expect some quality.

Strengths: Everything!!!Weaknesses: None ...Bottom Line: I previously owned a Galileo which I loved, then saved enough to purchase a better frame. The PRINCE is the best frame I've ever owned and it's down right superb! Smooth and responsive, paint fantastic (Fassa Bortolo theme).

Strengths: Italian, need I say more?Weaknesses: Couldn't afford to buy it sooner--mine not the bike's.Bottom Line: I've been dreaming of owning a Pinarello since I was 14. My lust for a Pinarello grew even more with Miguel Indurain's 5 in a row. Then I moved to Santa Cruz and met a friend who had one I could see up close and touch! Much to my surprise there was one for sale in my size at a very good price (relative measure, ask my partner). It's a 2001 in the beautiful blue/black fade built with full Campy Record and Ksyrium SLs. So, I've been riding this "dream" bike for a few months, have about 500 mi of riding, including the Napa Century. It's great. Very responsive.Climbs superbly. Descents are very stable. It's a beautiful machine even just to look at. And it's an even better experience to ride it. It was worth all these years of wait.

Strengths: Nice ride, flashy paint scheme (CAB)Weaknesses: Within 6 months the frame started to corode around the brake guides on the top tube. After 9 months the right chainstay cracked. Pinarello took 6 months to send a replacement ( I sent them a 56 cm, they sent me back a 55cm)Incompetence like that drives me nuts. Luckily I had purchased a Prince SL when I sent the Prince away. Unfortunately the SL is now having paint problems.Bottom Line: The bike rode relatively well and had a nice paint job. The bike broke after 9 months. I was pretty diappointed but understanding, these things can happen. My disappointment eventually turned to anger over Pinarellos poor service. 6 months to receive a replacement frame that was the wrong size. In the interim I purchased a Prince SL - the decals are now coming off the top tube on that bike.
