Price Paid:  $680.00 at e-bay

Bike Setup:
Stock 12-25 cog 9 speed with Shimano 105 components. I have no complaints (as others seem to have) with the stock Mavic rims - but then again, I'm not racing the bike. They stay in true very nicely.

Summary:
Bought mine used on e-Bay in 2005 and have been very pleased with just about everything about it. The frame is stiff, but the fork doesn't punish my elbows. It accelerated rapidly, turns in quickly, and I feel confident on it. Mine was ordered pretty much stock by the original owner other than for LOOk pedals.

Strengths:
Quick, responsive, reliable. Also nice looking.

Weaknesses:
Had to get the rear wheel relaced with heavier spokes because I kept breaking them on steep hill climgs. Don't care much for the stock saddle.

Favorite Ride:
Galena Summit, Sun Valley, ID

Bike Setup:
Ultegra with Mavic CXP23 training wheels.

Summary:
This bike is a good bargain considering that you can get the full Ultegra groupo for the price of a bike that would normally come equiped with 105. The frame is very stiff (sometimes a little too stiff if you ask me) and the handling very precise. One of the best deals out there for an alum. bike.

Strengths:
Groupo (Full Ultegra)
Power transfer of the stiff bb

Weaknesses:
Frame too stiff for very long rides (100+ miles)
Wheels

Summary:
I bought this bike mail order which is something I never do but couldn't resist the deal. The bike retailed at £1500 when Specialized first brought it out so to get £600 off the MRP, well, it'd be rude not to buy it. This is the fastest thing I've ever ridden. It flatters you if you're not fit and rewards you when you are. I've taken this over the Pennines and through Snowdonia (both mountainous routes) and it performs brilliantly. It's smooth and stable on the descents but stiff and agile on the climbs. Also, it looks the business and gets you noticed. I used to ride a Giant CFR2, very comfortable for long rides but none of the agility and speed of the Specialized. A great bike.

Strengths:
Fast but compiant ride.

Weaknesses:
No weaknesses, I just love it.

Giant CFR2

Favorite Ride:
From Charlottesville to Orange County

Bike Setup:
Stock everything except Terry SuperFly saddle and Look Peddles. Ultegra everything, mavic rims.

Summary:
Love this bike, everything has been perfect since I put it together right out of the box.

Strengths:
Stiff, stiff, stiff. You can feel the efficiency. Love the fork too and the shimano ultegra is a great package.

Weaknesses:
Thought the Body Geometry saddle was quite uncomfortable.
