Strengths:    Much more comfortable than aluminum, looks cool with the carbon tubes, not a "me too" bike, i got it when it was almost 10 years old with less than 100 miles on it, so it looks close to show room new. paid $200 which is only slightly more than my 1993 Trek 1200 which isn't in nearly as good condition.

Weaknesses:    Older bike so it doesn't have a quick release seat post collar, entry level shimano 105(does the job well, just not super), again due to it's age it has a threaded stem & fork which limits options a bit for upgrading at times. entry level mavic wheels are strong and decently light however far from aero or pretty. the geometry on my 1200 seems more race oriented, however that might just be my percepction.

Bottom Line:
It's actually a 1997. Bike looks great, more comfortable than the full aluminums i've had. just overall a great bike.
