Strengths: Comfortable ride, good shifters, room for rear rack and
28mm tires, 3 water bottle mountsWeaknesses: Gearing not low enough for touring in hills, Shimano brake
pads had to be replaced after a few hundred miles due to
embedded metal particlesBottom Line: This is a good entry-level road bike for comfortable
day trips. If you ride steep hills, make sure that the
gearing is low enough for you. I haven't had to walk
a hill yet, but I often wish I had a lower gear than
30x26. Seems like a poor choice for a light touring bike.
With the Profile Designs stem, I can raise the
bars even with the seat, which helps alleviate neck stiffness. Terry Fly seat is great, no numbness or pain.
Shimano pads were getting very noisy and roughing up the
rims due to embedded metal. Koolstops are much better.
