at Kisslers, Beaverton, OR Bike Setup: Dealer traded out the seat for a TREK cushion seat. I added a couple of racks and that's it. Summary: This bike is a steal at $1000.00. The components retail for more. Strengths: The bike is designed to handle a heavy load, with stability and a low center of gravity. Everything is beefy and unlikely to fail. Well equipped with Shimano 105 components and bar end shifters to accomodate a handle bar bag comfortably. Tires are beefy touring type. Minimal vibration. I enjoy the bike, though it's not particularly nimble around town. I've done considerable touring and have found that poorly built bikes break. I don't think this one will give me any problems. Weaknesses: The latest trends in touring bikes in Europe include a front shock and an oval shaped handlebar to provide lots of hand-hold options. The bike has no particular shortcomings, short of those possibilities. Similar Products Used: Novarra, Sekai

at MetroBicycle Favorite Ride: 9W from GW to Bear Mountain Bike Setup: Stock... installed rear "trek rack 1". Summary: This touring bike is strong, fast, and the ride is solid and comfortable at top speeds (no vibrations). It's a bike for the long term that is sure to satisfy just about any rider that is going to do alot of 70 mile plus trips. It will carry heavy loads with no problems at all. The frame is by far the most beefy frame that I have ever seen for a road/touring bike. I don't think I will ever get rid of this bike. It will be mine for as long as I live. Strengths: Almost everything. Weaknesses: Seat is uncomfortable (I will change it to Specialized comfort saddle, it rocks!), shifters on end of handle bars (intergraded brake/shifter much better - i'm thinking of upgrading). Similar Products Used: Cannondale R600, Mayata road bike (forgot model number)
