Strengths: Mr. Porter. It isn't really fair that you draw down the Waterford's rating because of fitting issues unless Waterford themselves personally fit you to the bike.Weaknesses: When fitted properly this bike has no weeknesses that I'm aware of. I've had over 20 biycles and none have been as smooth and as well designed.Bottom Line: This is a five star bike but won't ever show as such because of the last rating. Have your body measured for the bike and call Waterford to confirm the size before you buy one of these. Any ill fitted bike will give poor results regardless of the design or quality. Waterford Bicyles is one of the few really high quality sources that you can go to and get it done exactly how you wish. They were also great to talk to over the phone.

Strengths: NoneWeaknesses: NoneBottom Line: At 52, I've only just recently regained my childhood enthusiasm for bikes (so I'm probably not the best judge); however, two problems make me think that I might have ordered the Waterford a bit too small: 1st) my toes tend to clip the front wheel when turning at slow speeds; and 2nd) I feel as though my center of gravity is too far forward -- like I might fly over the handlebars during a sudden stop. Not sure whether or not I should try to get a bigger frame or simply try to get used to it; and if anyone has an opinion, I'd appreciate hearing it.

Bike Setup: Equipped it with a 46-34-24 chain ring, an 11-34 sprocket; and a BOA steeply sloped stem in order to keep from leaning over so much.

Strengths: A well designed and well constructed frame, an incredible paint job, and high quality components.Weaknesses: The only beef I have with the Ultegra/XT hybrid kit is there are more high gears (>100 gear inches) than I need or use.Bottom Line: Sorry to gush, but this is an incredible bike whose quality and consistentency only begin to become apparent as you ride it more and more. Like any bike, the heart of this bike is its frame and this frame will not disappoint. It's strong, light, and comfortable - just what a tourer or other long distance rider would want. For this price you'd better get a five-star bike and I did.
While you really can't go wrong with the Waterford offered kit, if I were ever to buy another bike I would seriously consider getting just the frame and building it up from individual components instead. But then I enjoy doing things like that.
I ordered the bike in September and it took about 8 weeks to receive it.

Strengths: Very well designed for touring yet great for club rides and commuting. Custom possibilities are endless. Paint and workmanship are first rate.Weaknesses: Like any bike that is built for you, you have to wait.Bottom Line: The folks at Waterford are great to work with. They'll help you decide on the particulars and have plenty of experience to draw from. Richard Schwinn spoke to me over the phone and through e-mail making sure everything was just right.
The bike is wonderful and I couldn't be happier. Well, I could always have more than one.
