Price Paid:  $0.00 at Fastsplits in Newton

Bike Setup:
Cane Creek, hopefully switching to Chris King headset, Ultegra components, durace hubs....

Summary:
Coming from my aluminum road bike, which I've ridden for years, I knew I wanted something different for my tri bike. It is early to be reviewing it, as I have had it for less than a few months and have only raced it once (I'll update this with any other thoughts) but for now my impression of the ride is smooth. I don't feel like this bike takes anything away from BB strength to put toward comfort, I think it's the best of both worlds.

Strengths:
Vibration absorbtion (especially on some of the frost heaved roads in NE)
Excellent Warranty
Good help from company (responded within the same day to several questions I had)

Weaknesses:
none so far

Similar Products Used:
nothing comparable

Price Paid:  $2000.00 at Nytro Racing

Favorite Ride:
Over the hills and up the coast.

Bike Setup:
Bioweave, Race Stock. Reynolds Ouzo Aero Pro. Full DA, Syntace C-2, Reynolds Stratus DV, Conti Comps.

Summary:
This bike disappears under you. Unique trait for a tri bike. I rode three materials (Ti, Alu, CF) and six makes to find this bike. It sped me up ten percent on my bike split compared to my steel Lemond. I fly past the fast swimmers.

Strengths:
BB stiffness. Slippery tubes. It jumps when you hammer.

Weaknesses:
Price is frame only. Still looking for performance weaknesses.

Similar Products Used:
Litespeed Blade, QR Typhoon, Kestrel Talon, Felt DA, Cervelo P-1.

Price Paid:  $1875.00 at aegis online (hello,

Favorite Ride:
pacific coast highway, San Diego

Bike Setup:
I'm using 100% dura ace 9 speed drive train with bar end shifters. Carbon X aero bars and HED 3 ae

Summary:
This is by far the best carbon bike out there for the money. I tested every bike at my local bike shop and this felt the best. Extremely comfortable and absorbs all road shock. Light weight, aero and a great hill climber.

Strengths:
Best value for your buck out there for a total carbon frame and fork. You can't lose with Aegis's crash replacement policy or life time guarantee. Excellent paint choices, I coughed up extra money for the custom red flames paint job. Their online help is fantastic. I wrote them with non-stop questions for a year Before buying their frame, They always answered my questions the same day of my e-mail. Good company support!!!

Weaknesses:
None so far. The $1875 I quoted only covers the frame/fork and custom paint. The rest bankrupted me.

Price Paid:  $2100.00 at Great closeout @ Inside out sport

Favorite Ride:
Anything undulating

Bike Setup:
Ultegra everything,Syntac C2 ultralite aero bars

Summary:
This is a great bike. It is responsive, light and comforatable in aero position for the long haul. The Trident has a great look, and so far they are still unique enough to stand out in the transition area. I bought mine on-line having done much research and comparison but never having ridden one. I have loved it ever since.

Strengths:
Everything. This bike is extremely responsive. All I have to do is think and it turns. Absorbs road vibration/shock similar to my heavy steal frame-without the weight! The Agis sails me past the competition in a head wind.

Weaknesses:
Paint on the carbon frame is easily chipped. Took a while to get use to 650c wheels.

Similar Products Used:
Heavy Specialized 700c

Favorite Ride:
Whiskey Dick Triathlon

Bike Setup:
56cm frame, Hed 3 wheels, DuraAce Aero drivetrain, Aegis Hotrod carbon fork, Speedplay X2 peddles

Summary:
Best bike I have owned. I feel its worth the money. Great ride. Have ridden as far as 200 miles in one day. I was amazed at the climbing. My aluminum Trek was good but this is great.

Strengths:
Cruises very stable at speed. Loves to climb - seems to accelerate uphill. Very comfortable on the aero bars.

Weaknesses:
A bit pricey. I had problems with the Speedplay peddles from the start. Tough to get adjusted.
