Strengths: the feel of steel
the price
not feeling bad about the scratches on the tiagra components from repeated packing
the smooth road rideWeaknesses: Tiagra components-however see above for their benefit (this brings it to a 4)
weight-24 pounds with touring wheelset and cross tires, 22 pounds with bontrager select and axial prosBottom Line: I purchased this bike to have something with 700c tires to ride on trips. The S&S system is a dream come true. The handling is predictable and the road bumps are absorbed by the steel frame. The cross geometry allows me to sit more upright. Also the choice of using cross tires allows for easier riding on gravel trails, in cities, etc. I have been on several 60-100 miles rides and it is quite comfortable. The price was right for a travel bike and therefore would recommend it.
Favorite Ride: Blue Hill,ME to Stonington,ME and back
