Strengths: Price, quasi-road setup with the virtues of 'comfort bike' geometry.Weaknesses: Low end Shimano components don't deal well with beatings.Bottom Line: For $289 you definitely get a fair bit more than you pay for, at least it feels that way comparing the competition. This is still throw-away crap department store price territory! That being said, it is definitely on the low end as far as components are concerned. The Acera rear derailleur isn't something anyone should take off road or beat up on too much. Every model up from the base Crossroads has the A1 frame instead of CroMo (which incidentally isn't bad, IMHO). For casual commuting, in town ride on a budget it's definitely a GREAT ride thoug, not too heavy, pretty quick, and not something you have to put your wallet on a diet on for. :)
