Strengths:    Easy, comfortable ride
Good for the rider who wants to spend hours riding
Easy shift and smooth glide

Weaknesses:    Tires do not hold air well

Bottom Line:
I have owned this bike for 8 years. I added a new saddle, lights, speedometer and IPOD. The store I bought it at adjusted it to my build and I have never had to readjust it. I do have the problem of the tires always going flat between rides, but have never had to replace them. I am able to hit a comfortable and steady 18mph on this bike and have hit as high as 24mph. This bike enables me to ride with my local bike club for a whole lot less than they have spent. I can literally spend all day on this bike and still not want to go home. Would like to replace the pedals but no bug deal.

Strengths:    Rides great

Weaknesses:    Bad intertubes and tires

Bottom Line:
I have been riding this bike for 4 years. I really like the ride of this bike. I am very very disatisfied with the problem of the inter tubes/tires going FLAT all the time. I replace 2 intertubes a month. I do not ride over anything, I make a point of that. I only ride on blacktop and never on bridal paths or stones. I hade other bike in my 30 years of riding other types of bike and never had a flat.

I recently purchased a trek 7100 for my fiance. I was going to adjust the stem angle, and encountered a problem. There are two bolts to loosen, and the stem will rotate up or down. I was able to loosen the left side, but the right side was so tight that i stripped the socket head of the bol ... Read More »

I am 39 year old in shape guy. I have some world points to spend and the Trek 7100 and Trek 3900 are the same points. I can't decide between the two. Does anyone know how much each weighs? Which is easier to pedal? I plan on taking the bike and go ride with my 5 year old on trails and roads ... Read More »

Trek 7100 Adjustments

Hi all: After some looking and testing I bought a Trek 7100 a month ago. Things are great. My question regards just a few things that may need adjustment or is this a sign of a larger problem: The front wheel rubs a bit against the brake pad and I have adjusted it but just can't get it perfect. ... Trek 7100 Adjustments

Hi all: After some looking and testing I bought a Trek 7100 a month ago, a "new" rider back after some years. Things are great, more of a recreational/fitness rider, just a few miles a day on paths and trails. My question is mainly are these problems just part of the gettibf used to to the new ...
