at ATA Boston Favorite Ride: Seattle to Portland Bike Setup: Fondriest Mizuno MC full fork,Campagnolo
Record 10,Campagnolo Eurus wheels,Michelin Pro-Race tires, Summary: This is for the Status Carb(steel/carbon fiber),not the Alur.A header for this frame was not provided.
I set out to build an Italian steel bike with Campy components. What I've ended up with has far exceeded my expectations.
The frame and fork weigh less than 4 lbs. and the bike came in at an unbelievable
15.9 with pedals!EOM steel still feels like steel even though it's very thin and light. The Mizuno fork(custom made for Fondriest)and shaped seat stays are tuned to this frame and provide laser-like handling.I've pushed some pretty high wattage thru this frame and can't seem to flex the bottom bracket at all.
It accelerates well, climbs like a scalded ape and looks good doing it.
There are a lot of cool bikes out there, but this one really stands out.
The matte black paint is virtually un-chippable and looks kind of stealthy. Strengths: Ride quality, handling, pays homage to Italian steel while integrating modern
technology (carbon fork and seat stays). Weaknesses: Have yet to find one. Similar Products Used: Serotta Ti,Bianchi,Specialized E-5,M-4
