Strengths:    Excellent price. Well-made frame, with lots of size options. Frame is ready for touring, with mid-fork braze-ons and dropout braze-ons to spare. Comfortable.

Weaknesses:    Heavy for a road frame.

Bottom Line:
I've had this frame for a short time only, but since I also have the 2001 version of this bike, I can say (no surprise) that they're very similar. I built the frame up with my choice of parts, and I'm very happy with the frame - for the money, this is a very high quality frame and I actually think it deserves better parts than Jamis puts on it to sell as a complete bike. However, the fully-built 2002 Aurora is a great deal too . . .

This is a good training/touring bike, but unlike other year-models of the Aurora it doesn't make a 'cross bike because of its lacking canti brake posts. If you're looking for a durable, well-made frame for your trainer, etc., this is a good choice.

I give it 5/5 for being well-suited for its purpose. Not a 5/5 racing bike. Not a 5/5 'cross bike. A 5/5 light touring or training bike.

Favorite Ride:   Endless country road

Purchased At:   Dealer

Similar Products Used:   Bianchi Volpe, many 'cross frames, many road frames of many materials. 2001 Aurora.

Bike Setup:   I usually don't do this, but since it's a custom build:

*LONG REACH Ultegra calipers.*
Old 105 crankset
Ritchey Comp post 27.2mm
Campy Euclid headset (1" threaded)
Modolo X-tenos stem
Wheels: XT hubs, Open Pro rims - the frame works fine with 135mm rear spacing.

And you really don't care about the rest.
