Strengths:    Strong, light and responsive when you need it, stable and secure always and once set up, the Record Triple is smooth, simple, and always ready with just the right gear.

Weaknesses:    The close ratios and precision of the Record tripe demand proper initial setup and attention to shifting until it becomes second-nature.

Bottom Line:
I have owned a Merlin road bike for 13 years. The original, Dura-Ace equipped model is still as good as new, but can't readily be retrofitted for today's running gear. The Extralight Triple (Record) will easily take my 57-year old legs to 70, with a great ride all the way.
