Strengths: Strong, light and responsive when you need it, stable and secure always and once set up, the Record Triple is smooth, simple, and always ready with just the right gear.Weaknesses: The close ratios and precision of the Record tripe demand proper initial setup and attention to shifting until it becomes second-nature.Bottom Line: I have owned a Merlin road bike for 13 years. The original, Dura-Ace equipped model is still as good as new, but can't readily be retrofitted for today's running gear. The Extralight Triple (Record) will easily take my 57-year old legs to 70, with a great ride all the way.
Favorite Ride: Crater Lake, Oregon

Similar Products Used: Side-by-side, the condition and finish of my 13-year old Merlin road frame cannot be distinguished from the new one- except for the wll-worn decals.
Bike Setup: Carbon fork and Easton carbon handlebars, Mavic Ksyrium wheels, and my old Speedplay Ti pedals, Sell
