Product Description

For a short time, Pinarello is offering an ultralight version of the Prince known as the Prince LS. Rather than using Pinarello Extreme tubing, the Prince LS is made from an amazingly light aluminum alloy known as “7xxx” with a CRS carbon fiber monostay. 7xxx is a recently declassified material (previously used for ordnance purposes by the military) with 33% greater strength and 40% greater hardness than industry standard aluminum. Even though the LS offers significant weight savings over the standard Prince frame, it has the hallmark lateral stiffness and vertical compliance of the Prince. The LS is offered only as a complete bike. It is full Campagnolo Record-10, with the new carbon fiber Hyperon wheelset, the carbon fiber Record crankset, and Pinarello carbon fiber stem, handlebar, and seatpost. Ksryium.

The Prince LS comes with the Pinarello Vola carbon fiber fork, in a 1-1/8” threadless configuration with an integrated headset.

Strengths:    Very responsive
Build quality
rarity
Racing heritage(TDF)
Looks

Weaknesses:    Some may find ride too firm over poor road surfaces(not really bikes fault)

Bottom Line:
Recently got back into cycling after a 25 year break, i built up a NOS ALAN corse super alu frame(wanted one since i was a boy)it rides beautifully but didn't want to wreck it on our badly surfaced roads so i decided to buy something more modern for a regular 'ride'.I checked out a lot of the latest full carbon framed machines but nothing really caught my eye, they all look the same with different names on them to me, i must admit when i saw the Pinarello i was smitten, it looks 'just right' with its close clearance and upright stance, its got great feel and front end bite making turn-in very quick and giving you lots of confidence through fast corners, the ride is firm but never harsh, definitely a keeper and a bike to cherish.

Strengths:    Light, ridgid and accelerates like no other bike I have ever ridden. The ride is smooth and comfortable, totally fulfilling my expectations

Weaknesses:    Finding insurance....

Bottom Line:
This bike doesn't compare to any of the hundreds of others I have riden, without doubt the Prince LS is by far the liveliest of them all (even though I thought it would be impossible to better the standard prince). The upgraded tubing makes a significant difference to the ride quality, being stiffer but without sacrificing comfort. The integral head set, carbon rear end and carbon forks makes for a muscular, lean machine whilst not going too OTT. The Prince LS is a perfect blend of technology and true Italian style. After a year's ownership my enthusiasm for this bike is still as strong as ever.
