The Drop-U is handcrafted using a proprietary fully butted tubeset that is then manipulated, tapered and ovalized to extract every ounce of performance from the ultra-light frame. Whether you are sprinting away from the pack or taking long pulls in the saddle, the frame''s perfect balance of stiffness, ride quality, and handling ensures that you have the right tool to perform. We build the Drop-U in four sizes. Each is geometry adjusted to ensure that no matter what size you are, the Drop-U exhibits awesome high-speed stability and incredible cornering prowess. It''s a sprinter, it''s a climber, and it corners like it''s on rails! So when it''s time to hammer, the Drop-U will more than live up to its name. The newest Titus gives you all the power and performance you need to win, ensuring that the only thing ahead of you is the finish line.

Strengths: light, fast
Weaknesses: none
Bottom Line:
I am a long time mountain biker and have had lots of Titus bikes (we are a dealer)
I built up a Dropu several months ago, I really like the frame, it feels stiff and responsive but doesn't beat you up at all.. it is stable at speed and precise handling at lower speeds, very confidence inspiring, especially coming from someone use to 2.3" tires, 4" of travel and disc brakes :)
I like the road bike much more than I thought I would...

Strengths: Superlight, stiff and responsive, handles well for a compact frame
Weaknesses: A little stiff, but that's aluminum!
Bottom Line:
I purchased this end of 2002 and have had little saddle time yet. So far, it is the best bike I have ever ridden and one of the lightest (15 lbs.!), which is great for an old guy like me! The frame is immaculate and very well constructed, but I expect that from Titus (I have a Racer-X too!). Whether your a racer or serious recreationalist like me, you will love this frame. It doesn't have the softness of carbon or ti, but you will appreciate the Drop-U when the road goes up. Can't say a bad thing about this bike!

Strengths: It is compliant, light, sugical handling, durable anodized finish, and exceptional value.
Weaknesses: None to date
Bottom Line:
While hesitant to get another rough-riding aluminum road bike on the weather beaten roads of Flagstaff, I was pleasently surprised at the smooth ride of this bike. The geometry is dialed and this bike handles exquisitly. Titus speaks truth in saying that the Drop-U is a do anything bike. Contrary to the industry, Titus also claims accurate weights for their frames. The large frame was spot on the predicted weight of 2.5lbs, and complete with standard parts and pedals came to 16.5lbs! Any buyer of the Drop-U simply cannot go wrong.

Strengths: Light weight frame, Cost, Handling
Weaknesses: N/A
Bottom Line:
This is a truly sweet ride...a compliant aluminium frame that jumps on demand. I have had other compact frames and this one handles the best...quick reacting without being unpredicable. Very light weight, I have a small built up with Dura-Ace that weighs just above the 15lb mark! I have ridden alot of 5+ hour rides without problems due to a stiff ride I think this bike is good for all types of racing...crits, road races, etc...I dont think any rider would go wrong buying a Titus Drop-U
Wanted to get the groups collective thoughts about these three frames. I am 5'11.5" tall with a 32.75" cycling inseam (slightly torso long) and currently ride a Klein Stage in 57 Read More »
