Strengths: Very smooth, dependable components, Looks
very good, handles very well.Weaknesses: Will upgrade to Dura Ace. Ultegra not as
smoothBottom Line: Obtained the 2300 since I was looking at the Klein originally. However after riding the Klein it seemed a little to "squirrly". The 2300 was at the shop and had a small dent (so they sold for less). I have ridden almost 4000 miles on the vehicle. Very, Very stable on the declines. I have changed the seat post to Carbon (really cuts down on vibration) along with adding a Books (Sparrow) seat. Components (Ultera are great), But will upgrade to Dura Ace. I have changed to
Look Carbon pedals. The machine is very, very comfortable. I do quite a few long rides. Worth every penny that I have invested. Very Good touring or racing machine.

Strengths: Stock components are fantstic. I have had no problems after 600 milesWeaknesses: none found so farBottom Line: I was looking for my first road bike that offered great value, updated technology, and looks. I found it in the TREK 2300. I added Look PP357 pedels and the Shimano Flight Deck.

Strengths: Low weight. Quick acceleration. Great climber. Handling. Great value.Weaknesses: Bars flex a bit under load.Bottom Line: Best bike I've ever owned! Smooth, quiet, responsive. Fits me great! Climbs beautifully. Handles effortlessy. Full Ultegra enhances performance. Bontrager Race Lite wheels are sturdy.

Strengths: Quick accleration, climbs with ease, love that whistle of the bladed spokes cutting through a cross wind @ 35 miles an hour!Weaknesses: noneBottom Line: Actually I ended up with a 2003 model. I'm a big guy 6'5" 200lbs and I needed a 63cm. Trek does not run this size on every production run so I had to wait. After about three aganizing weeks in August I got the word that Trek had run 3 63cm on there first 2003 run, two of which were spoken for. A week later mine finally arrived. But there was a FRAME DEFECT agghhh! I had to wait another week.
Finally I recieved my bike and TREK and my shop both did me right. Trek shipped overnight straight from the factory at no charge and knocked $300 off for my shop. and my shop is giving me ten percent off EVERYTHING FOR LIFE!!
Anyway, I am a commuter who is trying to go much FASTER. This bike more then serves that purpose. I do 11 miles each way and my time has dropped from 38 min on my heavy MTN bike to 31.5 min on this. I have over 800mi on my first month and she is everything I want, quick, efficent, fast.

Strengths: Treks lifetime warranty. Nice stiff ride
Light weight. Components are great and
hold up.Weaknesses: Handling is a little squirrely, maybe because of the rake of the front fork. I
will get used to it. I hate the saddle that come on my 2300SL. Maybe I would
like the saddle that comes on this bike.Bottom Line: Kudos to Trek for Backing up their Limited
lifetime warranty by replacing my three year old 2300SL after it developed a crack
in the frame above the Bottom bracket. I got a new (and better) frame, front fork,
headset and front derailer. It took about
2.5 weeks and the hassle of installing the
old components to the new bike. I have only put one 40 mile ride on the bike, but I can tell it is sweet. Especially notice how it absorbs the road so much
better than my 2300SL. It is also stiffer so my power (or lack there of)is transferred better to the drive train. That equates to better acceleration and overall speed. I can speak well for the components as I transferred them from my other bike They are somewhat worn but still reliable . When they were new they were smooth as silk and rarely needed
adjustment. They aren't so smooth now but they still need very little adjustment. This after 100s of hours of riding and racing. You'll love the Ultregra stuff.
