Price Paid:  $1900.00 at Maple Grove Cycling

Favorite Ride:
To the Wayzata Brueggers

Bike Setup:
Stock - ZR9000 frame (47cm), Ultegra STI everything, carbon fork, 650c Bontrager Race Lite wheels, 23c tires, Bontrager SE-1 clipless pedals.

Summary:
Good fit. I'm 5'3-1/2", and the options for nice road frames that aren't custom or at the least wierd small brands that offer poor value don't exist. I've got the 47cm frame (2nd to smallest), and the fit is lovely. It's light. It's fast. It was worth the price, because short of an accident, I won't be replacing this anytime soon.

Strengths:
Good fit without any crazy monkeying around. Super light weight (about 17.5 lbs.). Good gearing options (27 speeds gets a body anywhere). Relative ease of availability - where CAN'T you find a Trek dealer?

Weaknesses:
I wish it was free?

Similar Products Used:
Old aluminum road bike marketed by L.L. Bean (built by Cannondale).

Price Paid:  $1800.00 at Greenwich Bikes

Favorite Ride:
anywhere there's smooth paved roads

Bike Setup:
As is: WSD ZR alloy frame, ICON OCLV carbon fork, Bontrager Race Lite Wheels (650), Ultegra STI,Bont

Summary:
If you're a woman, under 5'6' and can't afford a custom bike, this one is for you. The 650 wheels seem weird when you first get on but any doubts vanish the minute you start to pedal. Acceleration is great, the frame nice and stiff. The shorter cranks instantly improved my pedaling mechanics. It's a joy to be centered on the bike and not stretched out. Even the handle bar feels better, with both drops and brakes easier to reach. Forget about Trek being the evil empire. This bike works!

Strengths:
Sizing sizing, sizing. OCLV fork, Ultegra shifting, 650c wheels.

Weaknesses:
Still bowled over by the fit - I haven't noticed any negitives yet.l

Cannondale, LeMond l
