at Bike Connection, Pal Summary: I sought a quality commuter bike replace my '94 Nishiki Sport and was considering a Trek 7.3, 7.5 and a Specialized Sirius. I test drove the Marin Kentfield on a whim and instantly fell in love with it. I have put over 100 miles on it and am very pleased with the lightweight, quality construction and speed of the bike. If you are used to bikes with carbon fiber components then the Kentfield might not do, but for the average commuter/recreational rider this bike offers terrific value for the buck. Strengths: Cost, weight, feel, appearance. Weaknesses: Comes stock w/21-gear rapid fire shifter, I may upgrade to 24+ gears. Similar Products Used: Nishiki Sport, Trek 7.3 & 7.5, Specialized Sirius.

$0.00 Summary: A great bike in the price range! I have put a little over 1300 miles on my Kentfield from April 2002 until date. A very nice ride. It looks good and has been trouble free. The only short comming is some of the hardware used tends to rust a little despite the care. I would look at Marin for my next bike as well. Strengths: Price
service
comfort Weaknesses: some of the hardware tends to rust.
