Price Paid:  $320.00 at Ehrhardt's Schwinn

Favorite Ride:
Commute to work past ASU

Bike Setup:
Light and Motion "Commuter" headlight (wow, what a difference it makes!); Arkel panniers; Specialized underseat tool bag.

Summary:
High blood pressure finally convinced me I needed to work out. But I refuse to "work out", as in health clubs, etc. Bought the Schwinn and began commuting. Averaging 50-75 miles per week, will increase as conditioning improves. This bike is great, especially in the bang for the buck category. Light weight, comfortable gel saddle, stem and handlebars are adjustable every way you can imagine. Very smooth shifting (and when you're out of shape, you shift a lot!) I put some Arkel panniers on it and can literally carry multiple clothing changes and tools/spares in style and comfort. Ehrhardt's Schwinn in Tempe, AZ, has been around forever, and it shows - great people to do business with.

Tires are generic Cheng Shins - not very impressive, especially when you inspect them from the inside. Tubes are the "green slime" variety - with slime being the operative word. I'm not impressed. Tubes have been replaced, tires are next to go.

For the price, hard to beat. Time will tell how the durability is but, then again, at this price, if it breaks, just buy another!

Strengths:
Light weight, comfortable, strong, smooth shifting.
Incredible value for the investment.

Weaknesses:
Tires and tubes. Green slime has one advantage - it shows you where the hole is so you don't need a water bucket to look for bubbles.

Similar Products Used:
Various bikes over the years, mostly the Huffy variety.
